The scary territory that we are getting into with Hurts is that I don’t think he is the answer, but he’s not bad enough to move on from and the team is competitive with him. They are not going to win anything with this style of offense. But because he’s not bad enough to move on from, they’ll end up burning 3-4 years still trying to make it work with him. It’s basically the Andy Dalton Bengals all over again.

Nothing else matters if you don’t have the quarterback. And the sooner you can realize that and move onto trying to find the next guy the better. But they still have that contingency plan with the two draft picks and I think Howie knows that.

They barely beat the Lions...the team was competitive with him today, not because of him.

Can already smell the stink at the Linc next week

More stank from Hurts, Gannon, Dline

Devonta Smith was a completely wasted first round pick for this offense.

A GM does need to consider these things when making draft picks and adding other players.

So much talent. Makes me sick

He wouldn't be a waste if Hurts threw his way more then 4 times.... then again he can't throw

That Lions onside kick was really stupid. That won it for us.

Looks like Titans/giants is this week’s "check back in once every 45 minutes” game of red zone this week.

How about all that pressure the dline got?

It was so telegraphed, that was the main issue with that kick.

Hurts played incredible. If not for him we are 0-1. The Oline was not good

I am equally scared of that, but I don’t think it will happen.

Hurts is a really, really, really bad passer.  Probably the worst pure passer with a starting job in the nfl.  Probably worse than a lot of backups.

His exceptional running ability paired with the best OL in the nfl paired with an underneath YAC machine in Brown will actually allow the the coaches to curate an effective offense for him…effective against the Detroit’s of the world.  But it’s going to be ugly every single time against a good team.

I'm less worried considering the 2 1st rd picks in a load qb class. I also don't see them paying him

Frankly, it felt pretty ugly today.

You guys have an agenda. Oline and Defense was terrible. Hurts led us to 31pts outside of that.

They have accumulated a treasure trove of picks for a reason, and Howie and Lurie are obsessed with the passing game.

We will have a new QB next year, book it.

Nick Sirianni saying Hurts had an "outstanding game” is extremely bothersome. Does he honestly believe that? And if so, and today’s game was the standard for "outstanding”, then what the hell does an "above average” game look like. This offense is extremely predictable. AJ Brown is a monster, as he’s always been, but it’s almost like it made Hurts regress. Only really looking at one guy. Teams are gonna start doubling him Megatron-style and idk if we have an answer. Devonta may as well not be in the field. Is it also not bothersome that we don’t throw the ball in the redzone? We don’t trust our QB and it’s so obvious. But yet.. he was outstanding..? Give me a break. Lane said "this ish was ugly”. Well, which is it? Does the coach pretending everything is ok really get the team behind him? Idk

The O was stalled the entire game.  The D was always gonna be a problem.  Attack the inside, and you can win.

You don't put up 38 total points if you stall the entire game. The defense is a real issue though.

I think it'd be a lot better if he just didn't run so much but it's clearly not going to happen. He was supposed to have worked on it in the offseason but it didn't seem like he did anything

I do have an agenda. My agenda is for my football team to have a QB who can do more than run the ball or target one guy.

He's a much better runner than passer, him running is good for us as his passing is sub-par at best.

If you want a volume passer, you'll need a new QB.

The Lions sent multiple blitzes from all over the place. Five players can only block so many rushers. At the same time I saw plenty of clean pockets were hurts decided to break out and run instead of reading the defense and making the correct throw. The offensive line did not play horrible. Instead I just believe you need to get your eyes checked or take a football 101 class

I still can't get over Smith having 4 targets

Anyone who didn’t think we played a game with a RB under center has an agenda.

Was the defense terrible?  Yes.

I'm still feeling angry at the Falcons deciding to be the Falcons. They had it! Still feel the Saints will give us a pick in the 10-15 range.

Good win by the offense, but I'm ready to fire Gannon into the sun. This was Billy Davis bad.
