I would say Jared Goff patting the ball for 5 seconds and almost every good QB we played last year completing over 80% of their passes is also a big issue. That's hard to overlook.

Honestly, this DL has been so inconsistent considering the investment for a number of years.  I've been vocal about getting rid of Hargrave instead of extending him and I'll continue to be.  They sorely lack a game changing DL.  Anyone scared of Josh Sweat?  BG we love ya but no one is gameplanning against you.  Davis and Williams have got to step up.  Totally disappointing effort.

I remember one stunt that looked like it was going to be effective but Goff took off running and made Avonte Maddox miss en route to a big third down conversion. Embarrassing play.

We missed a sack on that play AND Avonte Missed the open field tackle. Either event ends the drive.

No kidding. The LBs were so bad. On Swift’s run where he picked up a first down on third and 10, CGJ missed the tackle but forced him toward White, who completely left his gap and let Swift run right past him.

Yep. We couldn’t get a big stop to save our lives for much of the game. Thank goodness they botched that snap to lead to a punt.

Didn’t even mention Reddick, who wasn’t even worth mentioning today. He was a ghost.

I'm already ready for Nakobe Dean to take over for TJ Edwards. If Edwards isn't making good reads, he can't be on the field. White made some errors, but he also had some impressive stops.

But... Sweat was a Pro Bowl replacement.

This. He was late quite a few times and isn’t fast enough to make up for it.

Another thing.  Cam Jurgens at RG is going to be mighty tempting if Seumalo plays like he did today for a few more games.

Maybe that’s who they are, just a disappointing group overall. Bunch of frauds up front.

I thought White was the best defensive player on the field for the Eagles today based on the number of positive splash plays he made.  I assume further review would probably show some poor reads and blown tackles based on the sheer success their RBs had on the second level though.  
 

Reddick at LB and the entire DL were just a wash of ineffective bodies that showed very little push or movement.

And the secondary?  They were OK.  The Lions are one of the NFLs most impotent pass attacks, but they did struggle to get much going in the air.

Overall, it does have the look of a defense that will put up average-ish stats thanks to their schedule but will be totally helpless against quality offenses.

If Jurgens ends up at RG, it’s just going to be a little weird having a left side of the line that is massively oversized with some hiccups in pass protection and an extremely agile and smaller right side.  
 

With our "passing offense,” it doesn’t really matter though.

Sanders had a good game today, one of his better performances.

Why in the world is Avatar back in theaters?
