I went back through the Gamebook https://nflcdns.nfl.com/liveupdate/gamecenter/58843/DET_Gamebook.pdf

Hurts scrambled 10 times for 76 yards.  Four led to first downs.

Seven actual runs for 14 yards.  Eight of which on their first play.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Anyone have any idea how long this is?

No idea what they mean by "above" the thumb.

I'm guessing they mean proximal to, and that he has a fractured scaphoid (navicular). It's fairly often a delayed healing fracture, or even malunion. So that should be why in the NFL they'd just jump right to surgery and not play that wait and see game.

Possibly internal screw. Likely leave screw in.  Possible hardware removal in 2 weeks.  Play with it after that. Or miss 2 more weeks to protect in thumb spica splint. So 2-4 weeks if signs of healing visible.

Regular person would have a much more conservative timeliness.

Watchful waiting for about 4 weeks. Surgery if no sign of healing after that.  Still in protection ( splint or cast) after surgery. Looking at upwards of 8 weeks potentiality for me and you.

When I saw the replay it looked just like Donald hitting Brees. (Brees missed 5 games and a bye?)

That would be for gamekeepers thumb / UCL tear. It's a joint in the thumb so I'm not sure how it can be classified as "above" the thumb if that's the case. But who knows what above the thumb even means.

How many of the 10 scrambles came in 3rd down?

True that.

Who's out there?

Jimmy G maybe

I can't see Jerry letting a season go after week 1.

Are the Lions sold on Geoff if they could get some high picks?

Jimmy G

Cam (probably the most likely)

Pull Fitz out of the booth?

Howie is probably calling dangling Gardner.

Rivers maybe? He'd get killed in that pocket. No one they get will help them soon enough. That's a bad roster.

I need to rewatch the game from today and hope that the new NFL + is better at the All 22 than last year’s version.  I think I am again going to be unhappy with the soft zone quarters that Gannon and Wilson seem to favor. The coverage, other than Slay, didn’t seem tight based on what we could see with the normal TV game film. Now part,of that may go to CGJ only being with the team a couple,of,weeks.  The praise from the team of Epps seems a little wishful thinking.  Edwards and White, for the run D, we’re exploited, I believe.  The pass rush continues to suck. Overall, the defensive play and playcalling disappointed.  If they don’t figure out how to pressure the QB, Cousins is going to carve them up.

Teams are going to continue to blitz Hurts because he will break the pocket rather than quick release.  That said, his running was superb.  I really liked the shovel passes out of bounds. He wouldn’t have done that last year. Greater use of the middle and left side.  Brown was awesome but over utilized.  I think a coverage review will show the refs were allowing a lot of hands, including some grabs, and contact past five yards by the Lions and they literally pressed Smith out of the game.

cowpads lost.  Normally I struggle to watch cowpads games but Collingsworth with a strained voice and no Troy and Buck crap, actually made the game enjoyable.

Better than NFL ticket because it is only live, I will utilize the condensed games of NFL+ To watch the games I missed.

What a funky weekend.  Upsets on Saturday.  Rust with so many teams today.

And here comes Josh McCown!

NY, DC, and Philly are not saving the Cowboy's season with a trade of their backup QB unless its an insane deal.

If he wants to give Howie a 1st and a 3rd then he can have Minshew. I doubt he does that.

Bortles is a rando who could run for his life a bit and is still only 30.

Mason Rudolph? LOL

Would the Saints give them Dalton? They could ride with Taysom as the backup and pick up a 2nd round pick?

Is it just me or does AJ Brown look way more jacked than he’s ever been? He’s Fing ripped. But maybe he’s always been that jacked and that’s how he looks lining up opposite of Smith

Idk if he’s more jacked than before but he’s jacked nonetheless

He’s always been pretty jacked. Him and Metcalf were specimens at Ole Miss.

Oh boy this was rough to watch

33 QBs have thrown a pass so far.

Dak is 33rd in QB rating.

I thought this must be a fake of an Oz tweet but per Twitter, he really did post that in 2013.  It’s hilarious what Twitter sends me as I pretty much only follow sports.

CeeDee Lamb is 13th in receiving yards... In the NFC East.

Hurts’ delivery really bothers me and I don’t really see any changes from last year in his mechanics. Sometimes he gets it out quick but more often than not he has this elongated rainbow motion which is likely causing timing issues.

Looks like he may be out when they come to Philly 10/16

McCarthy might just quit at this point

I just fear what will happen when defenses start undercutting that slant route to Brown

It’s gonna be like playing with the Eagles in Tecmo SuperBowl with QB Eagles.
