September 12, 20223 yr I’m happy we were able to finish off the lions late in the 4th when we needed too. One of the reasons i hate playing the lions week 1 is the last 4 years they’ve always played above their head in week 1. They haven’t won but their games have always been competitive and they are always weird type of games. They tend to play with more energy and hopes they can still do something that season. Rather face them later in the season cause they breakdown and just revert to not being a good team. Since 2019 the lions tied the cardinals 27-27, lost to the bears 27-23, lost to the niners 41-33 and lost to the eagles 38-35. All were weird type games like we kind of saw today. that said I actually think the Lions have a chance to be a top 15 offense if not higher. As long as Jared Goff isn’t a complete moron (he tends to be that) they have weapons and good offensive line. Their WRs of st. Brown, chark and eventually Jameson Williams are a pretty good trio. Heck josh Reynolds as a 4th wr is nice. Add hockenson that’s a ton of weapons in the passing game. Swift is super underrated. Before he got banged up last year, he was really good. Great runner and gives you another dynamic weapon in the passing game. The issue with the lions is their defense is going to be bad. I would be shocked if the Lions finished in the top 20 in the league for defense. They have a couple nice pieces to build around like Hutchinson, Harris, okuduh but as a whole that defense is just bad. I thought the eagles did a good job moving the ball for most of the first 3 quarters. The lions really didnt stop them outside of a couple possessions in the first 3 quarters. but 4th quarter until the close out drive the eagles (where sanders really showed his worth) we made a mistake with a penalty, poor blitz pickup and just not good play calling. just looked out of sync on the first two drives of the 4th which helped the lions to force punts and the defense was not good at getting pressure nor stopping the run/swift

September 12, 20223 yr My takeaways from this weekend.... I'll be watching Levis and Leary even more the rest of the season. Just about all the top qb prospects

Aside from obvious trolling. I'm over all the humpers. Facts are he sucks as a passer, we have 2 first rd picks in a loaded qb draft, they will not give him an extension. I think White and CGJ with get extensions. Possibly even Bradberry. There will be no room for him

September 12, 20223 yr My takeaway is we have a racecar for an offense being driven by a 15 year old with a learners permit. Can't handle it. And we need a new DC.

Sirianni needs to get Fangio in house and tune up the Eagles D. Its only money. Put Fangio on the payroll.

September 12, 20223 yr Here's a look at the last 10 1st round picks for the Eagles. Needless to say, we need more out of our recent 1st rounders in Smith and Davis. 2014- Marcus Smith, served me bread sticks at Olive Garden 2015- Agholor- 3 catches 28 yards, 1 fumble...for the Patriots 2016- Wentz, 313 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT QBR:101...for Washington 2017- Barnett, 12 snaps, got hurt 2018- no pick 2019- Dillard, hurt, backup LT 2020- Reagor traded for peanuts, returned some punts. 2021- Smith, 0 catches 2022- Davis, played 22 of 69 snaps (32%), no stats 2022- traded for AJ Brown, 10 catches 155 yards Was writing this post looking at the small impact Smith and Davis had yesterday then decided to run it back to see how the last decade of 1st round picks are doing. This isn't to take away from the contributions that were made in 2017, looking at today. Not a very good look for Howie. Best thing is the trade for AJ Brown which again proves he's better at trading than he is drafting.

September 12, 20223 yr Prediction: The Cowboys get themselves a top 3 pick and trade Dak this offseason. I know, with his contract it doesn’t make sense… But we’re talking Jerry Jones…
September 12, 20223 yr Yup. Running a 4-2-5 most of the game when you're getting gassed in the run game, while your CBs are better than your LBs, is just dumb.
September 12, 20223 yr For the life of me, I don't understand why the hell the media is so GD focused on what the players wear off the field.
