RBs had a combined 22 carries for 122 yards, a 5.72 ypc avg.

So why in the hell is our "QB" running 17 times? And if they are bringing lots of pressure, why not run it down their throats at 5 yards a clip? That ought to slow down any pass rush?

But no, let's blame the o-line for Hurts being trash

Especially when the other team is overloading their line with pass rushers. How the hell do you not start feeding the RBs there? The NASCAR package can be super effective but there are pretty clear weaknesses in the run/screen game. Yet our #1 running offense can't find a way to beat it? Big part of the blame here is on Siri IMO.

The one play, first quarter, Goedert had a step on his guy(probably 2 steps) and if Hurts hit him, DG is still probably running.

Full disclosure, Hurts got the first down on a long run, but I'd rather have my TE running with the ball further down the field

And there lies the biggest argument for those saying Hurts is good because he runs.  Yes, his scrambles can result in first downs.  But with that he is inviting his body for more hits and he's potentially missing bigger gains and potential TDs by not looking downfield.

A scrambling QB is always going to make plays.  This is why Tyrod Taylor keeps getting jobs.  He can make plays with his feet.  Same with Teddy Bridgewater although I think he's better than Hurts as a passer.

Can't see this happening, but I would gladly take a 2nd for Minshew.

Are you crazy? Hurts incredibly durable? Until he isn't, and if he's gonna run 17 times a game, he ain't lasting till the bye even. DO NOT TRADE MINSHEW (unless you're pulling in first rounders)

We're not winning the SB with Hurts or Minshew, so yes I'm taking a 2nd for a backup QB.

He missed time last year. People are just lying now.

Dallas should be going after Jimmy G.

Disagree. Hurts couldnt change the scheme for the blitz. He couldnt get the ball out of his hand(to the right location) when the blitzed. He also seemed to check into a lot of passes cause he cant read a defense.

People say "Hurts legs saved the game because how bad our line was. BULLFINGPOOP.

Minshew would of read the defense, snapped the ball off quick, burnt the blitz and it would of been smooth sailing

I think you are overestimating Minshew.

A- for Hurts, C- for DL

This is nothing against Jordan Davis who clearly impacted the run game but did the Eagles trade up for a run stuffer?

There is some noise, such as Davis in for short-yardage and Swift having that long run on drive 1...but on the TV copy the difference was noticeable.

That’s essentially what I’m driving at. Davis was in on all the short yardage snaps. That’s going to drive the average yards gained way down.

A player I loved in the draft was Quay Walker.  He looked like he's going to be a force for the Packers yesterday even though he got dinged up.  He had some minor coverage miscues but I think he's going to be a stud.

I'd still like to see more backfield motion, pre-snap.  With our athletic Qb and the backs we have, we can get creative.  Steal some of the ish from San Fran.  Not just jet sweeps, but orbit routes, two back sets, reverse, how about a SCREEN!! There are so many creative things we can do with the backs and receivers we have, especially Quez and D Smith.  Instead it's non-stop RPO.  If we're gonna have a college Qb and college offense, then let's get creative.

Yea! Mailata at RB!

Funny thing no ones talking about outside the Eagles talk...

Matty Ryan took some  bad sacks yesterday that pushed them out of field goal range once, and pushed them back on the winning gf twice yesterday.

Wentz would of been crucified for that.

It's because there is a narrative of Wentz. Nobody seems to give a crap about Matt Ryan lol

Alarming we didnt score one point in the entire 4th quarter?

I think Hurts was legit concussed and didn't look the same after

Immediately after, he made that short pass to Goedert (that was a bad pass, Goedert made a nice play to corral it and turn upfield). Scott punched it in for a TD from the 1 the next play.

After that, he had a complete to Brown for 12 yards.

2 incompletions.

A completion to Sanders for -2

A PI call on an incompletion to Smith.

Then no further passes thrown.

I counted 17 hits Hurts took, 2 of them were pretty bad with the cheap shot he took in the 3rd and there was another good hit he took early on in the 4th. Would really like to see him take better care of his body and limit the hits he's taking. Majority of these are coming from outside the pocket, but that's also because he's leaving the pocket quickly. He also needs to slide earlier as he seems to do it at the last possible second when the defender is already coming down on him. This led to him taking that cheap shot that knocked him out for a moment.

Would like to see more motion pre-snap to help Hurt's with reading the defense. Would like to see more RPO with the RB taking it, sure seemed like Detroit completely ignored the RB on those and knew Hurts would just keep it. Let's take some snaps under center and get play action going. This is a run first team again, but they also need to take more deep shots. What the hell was up with the first drive? Aren't those supposed to be scripted plays? It all seemed terribly executed.

Goedert looked like he was playing mad. He was constantly talking trash to the Lions on almost every play. Would have loved to see more balls his way.

I don't know what the hell the defense was doing and i'm prepared to see Cousins have 85%+ completion rate next week. I've always found it strange how much of a cliff Cox has hit over the last 2-3 years. Davis needs more snaps. Is Dean seriously that much of a liability that he only got 4% of the snaps? The DL was thought to be a strength, but they couldn't stop the run and the pass rush didn't seem very effective for much of the game. I know Detroit has a top 5 OL too, but the DL should have had a much better performance.

Both the offense and defense have a lot of work to do this week.

My Money Line bet cared about Matty Ryan. LOL

Got into a big discussion here... Colts Stink. It wasnt Wentz

Wentz does oddly boneheaded plays we all get good laughs at...but then you see 4tds and your like...well f.  He will end up top 10 in touchdowns and potentially yards this year and it will get spun on how he is the reason they didn't make the playoffs. Just gonna be his career for some reason

Which hit/play, I'd like to go back and check it out better. Unless it was the cheap shot, then yea. he looked a little star'ey eyed

It was the cheap shot. 3rd quarter. 2:45 left in the Q. He was out.

And, that's gonna keep happening if he decides to run 17 times a game.

Lol just saw that Hurts 17 rushes......was actually 1 SHORT of his career high. FML.

It would be his seventh year and all he got were a few snaps in the playoffs.

That was a nasty hit to the head he took. I thought for sure he had a concussion afterward. Based on the hit and how he reacted afterwards.

The likelihood of the Eagles giving up a QB to their main division rival at this point in the season would be next to nothing, imo.

What type of value do you place on giving your main rival the possibility of staying in contention/more wins?

The answer is: More than what Dallas would be willing to give us. ;)

Josh Sweat remains good.

How many of those "designed runs" did he check into himself? He's a selfish d-bag

There was at least 2 run option plays where he should have handed off to the RB.

I'm not going to sit here and defend the man. He plays for the commanders. I hope he sucks the rest of the year. injuries have prevented three different playoff opportunities for him. Availability is the best ability and he wasn't.
