He makes second reads sometimes though. And don’t forget total yards! Does it matter if those 90 yards come from Devonta or Hurts’ legs? The best offenses in the league rely on an average of 2 QB runs per drive. Did you see the KC/Buffalo playoff game last year? Those loser wasted time throwing the ball, when they could have been running it.

As I said yesterday, I truly don't know how someone could watch his performance and genuinely think he played "very well".

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

I suppose reading isn't your strong suit.

Gee. I guess we lost yesterday, because of our agendas. Will it work going forward? Perhaps not. But it did yesterday.

Yes. It did yesterday. Against the worst team in the league. Barely. Thank god for the pick six, or it wouldn’t have.

I’m pretty out of shape. I’ve got a hike in a few weeks up from 5,500 feet, to 11,500. I went hiking yesterday, albeit on mostly flat terrain. It wasn’t that bad. I’m probably fine for the hike in a few weeks of 6,000 feet of elevation  because I was fine yesterday on flat ground.

Still, and always will be, convinced that Russell Wilson is a serial killer

They booed the crap out of Wilson. Lol. Now the media will play fan police.

Pretty dumb honestly. Best QB that team has ever seen.

I'm not miserable, just asking what I think are legit questions about moves that have been made.  We have serious questions about the DL and the pass rush that you could overlook because they won the game.  Our 1st round WR who they traded up for had 0 catches. I always look at the Eagles in an objective way.  I think every move they make should be made with a thought not only for this year but the following years as well.  I know circumstances change and opportunities come up that are unexpected.

I'd rather ask the questions I have instead of just sitting back and accepting everything they do as the right thing and think they are smart just because they are the Eagles and I'm an Eagles fan.

It's nitpicky to dissect a victory and saying you're doing so with a long term look at it all while at the same time doing this over the first game in the season.  It's a long season and we have only seen 1/17th of it.  There's going to be a lot of working off rust/working out the kinks in this first month of the season since this team opted to not really do a preseason for it's starters.

Oh, my bad. You’re talking about Smith. Had a catch negated by penalty. Also a drop. Clearly his season is over.

I’m honestly shocked that you’re taking this position. But I don’t need to argue my point. It’s gonna play itself out in a completely obvious way, that I've made my stance on pretty clear. Doesn’t take Nostradamus to see it.

I’m wondering if the people that think Hurts has the magical formula for a running QB who struggles reading defenses and passing, are the same folks that think American socialism will magically be the first time socialism has ever worked. Sure, it’s never worked before, but THIS time it’s different... right.

My kid lives there with my ex wife. I lived there. The local media covered it to death. The divorce was more messy and bitter than most people think. I get it. I'm just surprised the passive aggressive fanbase there actually booed him..

No, but he was underutilized last season because Hurts couldn't read the field. He had a ton of yards and at least a TD left on the field in the playoffs because Hurts couldn't read the field. He had plays yesterday where nothing happened because Hurts couldn't read the field

Seems to be a pattern here.

I thought so. Many, with agendas that deny even that possibility, do not.

You thought that game was outstanding? By what measure? He had one (rushing) TD, sub 60% completion, bailed on clean pockets, missed a myriad of throws and took a bunch of hits. The only thing saving him from having a completely mediocre game is he ran 17 times for 90 yards, which no QB should be doing.

The bar here is so, so low apparently. You know who had an outstanding game yesterday? Mahomes and Herbert. One could argue wentz did as well, one of his picks was a fantastic play by walker and he threw 4 TDs.

Hurts played like a game manager. He didn't turn the ball over and he moved the chains. That isn't outstanding QB play. It isn't bad, but sure as hell isn't outstanding unless we've just resigned ourselves to the fact that being barely average is outstanding for him.

I honestly can’t believe we’re arguing whether an NFL QB needs to be able to read defenses and throw the ball, and shouldn’t be running 10 times a game. It’s unbelievable.

He's killed the Eagles multiple times <_<

Alex Singleton with a nice blitz but then just absolutely refuses to sack Geno Smith. 🤣

Singleton 🤣

So happy he's in the AFC.

Geno Smith continues to look 10x better than Hurts.

Singleton looking to have an outstanding game, by blog standards

It’s still game one. Lots of football left to play. You can’t use history as a guide around here. He could still develop

yep. he sees the field. he has a better arm. He is more accurate. He keeps his eyes up when he is scrambling and throws TDs.

Geno Smith is making the Josh Allen leap!

I’m not watching the game but saying Hurts would have ran, on any given "passing” play, is a pretty safe bet, when you look at the statistics.

Man they are really giving it to their former Super Bowl winning QB. Even we wouldn't boo Foles. 😆

I don’t disagree. My point is, it isn’t just one or two QBs who are in the top tier. And there certainly aren’t only a few who can... say.. make a second read, and like, throw the ball to multiple WRs. And like, not bail and run at the slightest bit of adversity.

I hear ya, I ran out of patience with Hurts a long time ago. We far past due to see someone else get a chance to run this offense.
