They can’t these are all ex Wentz washers who still can’t get over it, it’s been years and still ….. Even if we go 5-0 we are still going to hear the same crap. It’s agenda driven.

They were settling for a ridiculously long FG, and killing the clock so that Seattle wouldn't have time left IF they made the kick. They had 3 timeouts and nearly a minute. Call a timeout, get a good play to convert and make it a more reasonable FG attempt.

Hurts also kills overmatched teams so far but without the pretty passing stats. Hurts is not worth 40-45 million right now. Neither is Dak. I'm not saying Hurts is as good as or as polished a passer as Dak is now. I am saying if his ceiling is Dak and the Eagles pay him its going to be a bad 5 years. Hurts isn't worth that money ever

Keeping positive vibes here and expecting a more polished performance against the Vikings for sure. Thanks btw Here's some positive vibes. We have 2 1st rd picks in a loaded qb draft next year

September 13, 20223 yr It's funny the way people are excusing Hurts performance in this game..."The Lions blitzed so much, he had no choice but to run!" Hurts couldn't identify blitzers pre-snap, even though he took as long as possible to try and do so. The Lions weren't all that creative with their blitzes, they often sent the corner. Instead of ID'ing the blitz, and then throwing to the vacated blizters spot (or audibling his WR to go there), or, if they were in man, throw the ball to Brown (as he did one time) deep, and let him beat his guy who he clearly overmatched. Nope, his reaction was to tuck and run. Every time. The other way to slow down a blitz happy team? Run the ball with your actual RBs, who were averaging almost 6 yards a carry. How is that not insane? Instead he carries it 17 times and people are happy because.....**checks notes*** we beat the freaking Lions? Yet another way to slow down a blitz? Screens! Use your RBs and let our athletic o-line get out and start smacking people around. Naw...no need for that, our selfish QB can just run it, again! It's 2021 all over again.

The question was always if that was ALL he could do. That answer is 'no'. He is more than a slot. But, the fact that he lit up LBs and Safeties isn't surprising. The fact that the OC also gameplanned ways to get him those matchups also isn't surprising. Its what good coaches do. You gameplan to find mismatches for your best players. If only our coaches did that.
September 13, 20223 yr Hurts would have won that game for the Broncos last night. All those trips down to the goalline with no points.
September 13, 20223 yr The Eagles had the 2nd most offensive points this week. A lot of other teams played bad defenses too.

September 13, 20223 yr We should tell the Vikings we're actually playing on Sunday....for a competitive advantage of course.

There doesn't seem to be any adjustments built in, pre snap. Therein lies the problem. You mold the offense around the abilities of your players. When you have a QB that is not good at reading defenses, you give him less to do. It truly is like a college offense. Cutting edge, then
September 13, 20223 yr 7 hours ago, blindside said: I wouldn’t crush him at all. That’s his bread and butter. I would crush the FO and coaching staff for not seeing the obvious and for coddling his limitations, and would probably troll fans that couldn’t see it coming by talking about how good he was against a Detroit week one. But that’s kinda my whole thing. We draft a guy, who is clearly a running QB, a round early. We stick him in at the end of the season. He has an abysmal completion percentage, but wins a game or two. He gets the starting job the next year, displays the same old issues he had in college. Runs against a bunch of bad teams to sneak in the playoffs, then gets exposed in the playoffs. Then we have this whole offseason of debate where we’re told that this is the big offseason. A year under the new system and coach, a new QB trainer who worked with Brady, better mechanics, paying rent every day and really working on progressions... And week one comes and it’s the same exact old ish. And people are like "but shut up, we won!” And it’s like, did we? To me, winning would be seeing progress from our QB. I thought that’s what everyone agreed we were gonna see, or at least supposed to see. We see possibly even regression, and yet we’re all supposed to be excited because we beat the Lions? Not me, homie. I had to drive 30 mins each way to watch that garbage. I couldn’t care any less about beating the Lions week one. I just wanted to see development. But I didn’t. I saw a guy revert to what he knows, only with a new security blanket at WR. So just a comfy blanket of unsustainable crap. And instead of being challenged to do work through adversity and gain skill, we saw a coaching staff warm the comfy blanket for him and fluff his f-ing pillow. I find it extremely bothersome (clearly) and I can’t figure out how anyone, who cares enough about this team enough to post on a message board, doesn’t. The Seahawks Broncos game is a great example of where Hurts can improve and should improve. Wilson broke the pocket/bailed out on a number of occasions but his first instinct wasn't to run, but to get his mechanics set, his eyes up to survey the field and throw. It's that area where Hurts really has not improved a whole lot since being drafted, and for me will ultimately define whether he gets paid $200m+ by the Eagles or not. I am not suggesting Hurts is comparable to Wilson, but that tape should be on his to do list. Nor do I think it is an awful thing to ask of a QB either - from outside, it looks like he isn't challenged enough on it. A human body can only take so many hits, so be smart with what you do and understand trying to out Alpha someone in Week 1, will likely cost you at the end of the season.

Yup, in college he killed teams from the slot, smart to put him in those same situations where he can excel especially since he's shown he can dominate all over the field. I was definitely wrong about Jefferson coming out, I thought he was just a really good slot but he's been that and more.
