EMB Blog: 2022 Regular Season (and beyond?) - NO POLITICS

Offensive line has not played well, and Stafford has been turning the ball over.  49ers also won both regular season games against them last year.

You've been around. You know that things change a lot from week 2 to week 18. I suspect barring a rash of injuries the Rams will be a good team this year.  They are another team that barely plays in preseason so takes them a bit to get going

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Giving up 27 points to the Falcons at home is concerning for their defense.  It will be a tight race, but I would give the edge to the 9ers.

In Reich’s defense… he has an old QB that had no WR help. Pittman was out. But yeah to get completely shutout was not good. I never bought into Ryan being an upgrade over Wentz. Fewer mistakes, sure, but not the same level of arm talent and athleticism.

I predicted a bad year for the Colts some weeks ago, pointing specifically to their LT - Matt Pryor.

This from today's Coltswire web site about yesterday's debacle.:

  • Matt Pryor was a revolving door at left tackle. Early results suggest it wasn’t the right move to go this route.

Then why did Doug fall apart without Reich ??  Do we shift the blame to Howie meddling ??

Did he really fall apart, though?

2018 they had a nice season and run. Unfortunate end.

2019 we had relatively no one on offense (no fault of his) and made the playoffs when the cheapshot happened.

2020 Wentz was the worst QB in the league and our team (particularly the OL) was beyond decimated.

Tons of unfortunate circumstances, but I wouldn't really say he fell apart. This isn't to say he didn't regress to some degree or that he's some superb coach, I just think he gets more crap than he deserves.

I think they were a great duo that strengthened each other.

Yes. Bad contracts and poor drafting. Doug wasn’t blameless though.

The poor drafting I place solely on Howie. I suspect there is plenty of blame to go around concerning the bad contracts. It sure seems like Doug was on board with trying to keep the band together.

Doug's undoing was he fought Lurie/Howie on assistants. Couldn't pick an OC after Reich and Schwartz was leaving and they didn't trust his pick there.  They weren't wrong. He wasn't good at that but resented them getting involved.

What's your definition of a stud WR?

Someone really fn good. Like DeVonta Smith.

We will learn a lot about this years Eagles team tonight. Are we simply a team that makes the playoffs in a weak division or are we in the conversation for top 5 NFC teams?

Then they hired the wrong guy.  Much like now.  They hire someone who they want to control.  A good leader hires good people and let's those people do their job.  Lowie doesn't do that.  They hire people they can control.  It's ridiculous to manage a team like that.  HEAD Coach, should be able to hire his own coaches.  I don't care what level of football.  It's not a sustainable approach.

This.

Doug took a team with many injuries , no 1000 yard rusher , no 1000 yard receiver , no dbl digit  sack guy and won a Super Bowl  .

Doug beat a terrible colts team, in Jacksonville where the Colts always lose and now we're ready to crown him.

GTFO. Jags go 5-12 for the next 2-3 years and rotate doug out

Not sure anyone's crowning him? Just suggesting he isn't a dumpster fire.

Three playoff appearances and a ring with the most injury bugged team I've seen in awhile while the GM tried to contr everything. Give the man credit where it's due man

They literally won a Super Bowl with him. I don't think I'd go so far as to say they hired the wrong guy.

dont let minor details get in the way of a good anti-Howie rant.

I agree but I am concerned a bit that Sirianni and co won’t get him involved enough.

But yeah he broke the rookie receiving yards record on a team that ran 60% of the time. Davante Adams had a huge week 1 but yesterday had 2 catches. Mike Williams had 2 catches for 10 yards week 1 but bounced back with a huge game.

I’m expecting Davonta to have a big game tonight

Could see a mid season trade for Dillard in the works.

You can quote yourself the same way you quote any other post.

Forget your entomology?

Irony is Big Nasty is the guy who doles out football fines and suspensions.

"Former NFL player Jon Runyan, who now serves as the league’s vice president of football operations, issued the suspension and told Evans in a letter that, ‘Your aggressive conduct could have caused serious injury to your opponent and clearly does not reflect the high standards of sportsmanship expected of a professional.’ "
