  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Idk i look at it this way. These two teams have had this going on for awhile so the officials and league are already on alert. So the players involved had to know this going into the game. It’s about the 3rd incident. I’d suspend Lattimore, Evans, Mayes (threw a punch) and even fournette for shoving Lattimore which escalated a retaliation and Evans to come flying in. my issue is this since Lattimore isn’t getting suspend, I easily see he’s going to stir the pot again next meeting cause his punishment was a slap on the wrist. And you are gonna have something like this again. If you suspend those involved now it’s more likely to stop cause players don’t want to lose game checks

No doubt. There’s always going to be players that stir the pot with words and antics (same with the blog). It’s always going to be part of their game and the opposing team needs to keep their composure

I get your point but Evans was the one who came off the sideline and really escalated the situation. They want to set the precedent that the player(s) who do this will receive the harshest punishment. Think they got it right.

Now if you think Lattimore should have been suspended a game and Evans 2 games. That I could get behind

Like you said, they have to set a precedent. It's why they came down on Ridley so hard for placing bets. They make an example out of these guys so no one else does it again. The fact that Evans came off the sideline is why he got suspended.

Wait.  So we’re defending the guy who hired a coach whom he doesn’t trust to do his job or blaming that coach that he hired?

Are we discussing doug? Doug was ok his first year and great his second year. In 2016 when we had suspensions and injuries i thought developing wentz was the most important thing he had to do and he did that. I thought doug didn’t do a great job as his tenure moved along especially most of 2019 and 2020. By the end of 2020 i thought he either really just didn’t want to be here and/or his scheme became predictable. Plus wentz has regressed and was awful. And we had the FO and players leaking a ton of stories.

Before the season i said the jags are going to be better than we think. They aren’t going to be a 9-10 win team but they can get to 5-7 wins. That division is not very good. I thought the colts would win it but i thought it was at like 9 wins. I think foles is going to replace Ryan at some point. Also their oline has issues along with their defense had the same issue yesterday that they had last time in Jacksonville. Lawrence started 13-14 in the last game of the 2021 season. He was 12-13 to start this game. Imo the titans have mediocre weapons besides Henry. And a little concerned about Henry accumulation of carries over the years. The Texans are a bad football team that plays hard. I said jokingly yesterday the jags could win that division at 6-11. I think someone gets to 7 or 8 wins. But i wouldn’t be shocked if someone wins it at 8-9 or 7-10

Doing good, I'm glad to see you sign up. Were you aware of what happened with the old EMB and that this is a new EMB and everything that went on to make us the new EMB? Also, if you want your old stats back (post count and likes), I'll add them to your account here.

True. However the situations keep escalating. The two biggest culprits that continue to drive this and escalate situations between these teams is Lattimore and Evans. Why i suspend both. These are both repeat offenders and catalysts for the situation continuing to get out of hand

No doubt they won a SB. Duh. Point is, If they don’t trust a Head Coach to do his job, then they’re not doing it right.  You get that…right?  You think that model is replicable?   Honestly.

Come on man.  We all know it was an anomaly.

Is Tom Brady replicable for Bellicihik?  It worked for us for once.  Howie brought in Schwartz, made Doug keep Stoutland etc.  It was a series of right moves.  I'm very critical of Howie at times but that all worked.  Very little is sustainable over the long term in sports.

Multiple years is the exact benchmark that needs to be discussed in terms of long term commitment and the salary cap.   Hurts is eligible to be extended after this season.  Is it a good idea to do so?   Right now, I'd say that the team should be in no rush.

The thing that troubled me about the game against Detroit was the frequency with which the game plan called for Hurts to run as a play design.  That indicates to me that the coaches have no interest in really evolving his game past a certain point, and they think that the running piece of his game will always be the go to.   I can't remember Reid calling more than a handful of QB draws (in very specific situations, usually at the goal line) with McNabb in the early years.   McNabb ran as a scrambler, but not as a 'ball carrier'.  To me, the long term risk of asking your QB to do that outweighs the short term gains... unless you have no interest in long term investment in that QB.  In that case, it is all about the now and tomorrow doesn't matter because they plan to find someone else for the future.   (Which is why college QBs run so much, IMO.  The college coach doesn't have to worry about wear and tear on their 20 year old stud QB... because in 2 or 3 years, he's gone anyway, and they will have to find another one.   Maybe that is the trend in the NFL... and given the price of QBs these days... it might not be the craziest idea out there.   Draft a QB, run him for 4 years, do what you can on their rookie deal, and then let them go get huge money elsewhere, and repeat.  Spend the money on the less expensive pieces, relatively, and let them carry him a bit more.  🤷‍♂️ )

I guess Sirianni wasn’t lying in his opening press conference that he’ll run the Wing T if that gives him the best option to win

I totally agree I'm in no rush to re-sign Hurts and I agree with your other points. That said it seems like there are people here who have angst that if they aren't constantly saying something bad about Hurts that it will lead the Eagles to re-sign him immediately to a huge contract 😂😂

I know, the Hurts discussion is exhausting.

That being said, I don’t see a scenario (right now) where Hurts is re-signed. Either he won’t play well and they’ll move on or he’ll play well enough to want to extend but not enough to warrant $35-$45/mill per year. Couldn’t blame him for expecting that and definitely wouldn’t blame the Eagles for not giving him high end QB $.

Just my meaningless opinion.

We will learn a lot about this years Eagles team tonight. Are we simply a team that makes the playoffs in a weak division or are we in the conversation for top 5 NFC teams?

Top 5? NFC is kinda weak so maybe but I doubt it. As you say, tonight will be indicative. When they almost lost to the Lions I was pretty doubtful but it turns out the Lions may no longer be the butt of jokes.

Which player will get our irrational rage after Hurts is gone?

I have a bad feeling he knows his worth and would accept $25-27 million per year just to remain a starter, somewhere.

It’s more so the agent who presses more in negotiations. The big hang up right now with some other guys like Lamar is the guaranteed money portion of the contract. Watson blew the roof off with $230 million guaranteed but guys like Murray and Wilson took less because that was an outlier deal. I’m guessing Lamar wants something close to that and Baltimore isn’t budging because they don’t feel they need to make a bone-headed deal like Cleveland did.

Should be easy pickings.

In three games, he played 168 offensive snaps and went 42-of-65 for 315 yards with two touchdowns, two interceptions and two lost fumbles.

I don't think they'll lock into him for a long time barring a real leap this season that no one here expects. They could give him more money next year in an interim type deal.  So many variables now. I think beyond his play a lot will depend on Howie's confidence in getting another QB.  If it's going to take 3 1's to get the 3rd best QB in this draft then they might look at Hurts more favorably in the short run than say if the Saints have a top 5 pick for us.
