That Irv Smith drop might have been a game changer, but that was a heckuva effort overall by the defense. Completely shocking. 

I thought the defense actually played better as the game wore on. Specifically the defensive line. Not that the defense didn’t play well early. I thought they just got even better after the td drive by the Vikings. The drop helped but they tackled much better and didn’t find themselves out of position against the run 

 

I have to say that my favorite play of the game was the long touchdown run by Hurts. But not because of the run but rather Goedert’s performance on the play.  Harrison Smith was interfering with Goedert and physical well beyond the five yard mark when Hurts was behind of scrimmage and Goedert was letting him do that and hang close because as soon as Hurts passed the LOS and it was clearly a run, Goedert went into blocking mode and abused Smith all the way down the field.  Old school football.

My nitpick of the offense is I still think we need a bigger, more physical RB. Need to break those arm tackles.

I thought the rush was solid tonight actually. Sweat looked very good. Even Cox and Hargrave were alive.

Next step. I thought in 2017 the eagles had the big win against Washington and kind of regressed the following week at KC. then they huge FG win against the giants. They could’ve come out flat the next game especially traveling out west to LA. But the eagles found consistency in their play the following week against the chargers and began to really roll.

Goedert looks like a different player this year. Much more faster. He put some serious work in the offseason.

Traveling thru Seattle for the night..went to a sports bar to catch the game. Surprisingly the entire bar was packed full of Eagles fans! This board & an away Eagles game (during our bad seasons) are the only times I’ve been around a bunch of Eagles fans before that. I’ve always been the only eagles fan in places I go. 
 

Was a really fun experience. Had a blast. Hurts looked awesome. Slay is still a star. Glad Devonta got some catches.

I thought they got better as the game wore in when they did rush four. But i agree and think they likely need another pass rusher

Given the number of drop backs, Cousins seemed comfortable when we weren't blitzing.

Continuing to put Watkins back as the KR is malpractice. That never should have been thing. Needs to be over and done with immediately. Covey isn't good at PR either though.

Tbh i feel like this has been an issue for a while now. Return game stunk and a block kick. Plus i really think we could upgrade at punter

 Special teams are legit critique of the Eagles, no competition for Siposs,  and no real kick returner to start the season.  Can’t expect much more from Covey.
