Don’t get ahead of yourself.  Commies always play tough and cowpads have a good D.

Yup. I thought one of the most underrated wins of the 2017 season was the chargers game. After the emotional big win against the giants on Elliott’s kick they had to travel out west and beat the chargers. They did it and was a really good win. It is one thing to win a big game like tonight on MNF. It’s another to win and then come back following week matching it with consistency. That to me is where you can go from good to great. Great teams are able to find that consistency and build off of it each week

Odd that the blog is missing some posters right now who were in here complaining endlessly when someone tweeted that Hurts ran during a 7v7 drill in preseason.

I really miss those guys.

Third? He sucks.

Hurts Haters currently over the course of the next week conducting a super secret group private message meeting planning on how to paint this MNF win as actually a very bad game for Jalen Hurts.  Totally not any sort of agenda though.

Really wish they would have done more on offense in the 2nd half.  Happy as F*** but still would like to see some points scored too after halftime.

Defense played well all game and were helped by some drops.

Only had four possessions in the second half.  The first two we self-destructed with penalties. 11 plays followed by 8 plays.  The offense was working, it was the penalties.

Then the INT.  Then lead protection.  I'm not that concerned.  The play-calling reflected a 17-point lead.

As someone who has been plenty critical of Hurts, I’m happy to say he played great tonight

Wash will be a tough game. They would trail the Eagles by 2 games if they lose they’re gonna give their best effort probably, and they have good WRs and a good front 7. If the Eagles can’t get pressure on Wentz though there’s something wrong, their OL stinks

Washington has three legitimately good wide receivers. Curtis Samuel is playing like he did his last year in Carolina without they’re using him. And I think they have a better tight end situation than Minnesota with Logan Thomas getting back to 100%. I think this game is going to come down to defensively our line beating up on their line. Because if you give Carson time to actually make the throws down the field, they have the weapons to do a lot of damage. We’ve seen that with Terry McLaurin before with worst quarterbacks.

How did CJGJ look?

The first half was a clinic on how the offense needs to operate.  Lots of distribution to Smith, Goedert and Brown.  The 2nd half was not nearly as impressive.  MIN had chances to get back into the game, but Cousins was just awful tonight.  Worse than a deer in the headlights on every blitz; he was just lofting it up for grabs, and the Eagles could have had a half-dozen INT

The defense always seems to play with a lot of energy at home, especially in prime time.  The offense has a lot of talent — just need to distribute the ball properly

He needs to do this consistently.  Complete a high % of throws, don't turn it over, run when it's necessary not just because.

You saw it last week and you saw it tonight, but it feels good to finally have some ball hawks on this defense. They need to learn how to catch, but they’re all over the ball. A lot of people want to get caught up with yards allowed, but there’s nothing more important than an opportunistic defense that can cause turnovers. There will be games where they give up 24+ but with how the offense looks so far, it may only take a turnover to flip the game in their favor.

Gibson is a good RB too. They have some offensive pieces. If there’s a game the Eagles slip up on early, this will probably be it.

I think he would just pee on the ground. It's not like some poor dude is going to carry a cup of pee from a grass field back to the locker room.

Agreed. But at least for tonight he showed me what I was looking for from him with only a couple of exceptions.

Lots to like in this game

I would guess he has a bedpan setup precognitively if he expects this to happen

In the permanent spot for the medical tent though? "Jordan Davis went over in that corner, and he had asparagus this morning so hold your breath as we pop your shoulder back in place.”

Surely they have a system set up for any player who needs it. Maybe a self-closing bucket or something

The word mark actually looks good in the end zone — better than the old one, tbh.
