Very few by definition. its tier 1

mahomes, allen for sure. Brady and Rodgers

So four out of 32 is 12% of the league which sounds about right

its important to think weight of evidence and avoid recency bias

I'd add Herbert to that list.

Naturally most everyone is gonna be focused on Hurts, but I gotta say, hats off to Gannon last night too. After Week 1, I thought for sure Jefferson and Cook were gonna obliterate us, but he called an awesome game, we saw some blitzes that actually worked (including on successive plays even!) and all-in-all he stifled an offense that is more than capable of putting up points against just about any other team in the league. Didn't expect it, but pleased to see it nonetheless.

Yes.  And some of the blitzes he dialed up, especially late were beautiful.  And Cousins just started throwing the ball up for grabs and the Eagles eventually made him pay.   Lots of 'turnover worthy' throws in the fourth quarter.  Cousins was just looking for a soft place to lay down by the end of that game.

And the run defense was much, much more stout.  Adjustments were made.  Assignments were executed.

E v 3.0

Welcome back E!

Thanks!

I just checked out that JAKIB post game show. I found 1 player interview. In over 2 hours. I saw no post game press conferences either. They look like they are in some sports book in atlantic city and they do like a facetime interview.

Thats not good enough.

You need D Gunn in the stadium catching a bunch of players with the mic. And you need to bring the post game press conferences. You cant all sit in the sportsbook an hour away.

Holding Jefferson to under 50 yards was pretty sweet

did slay have more receptions and yards than Jefferson? Maybe fell short on yards but he had that once nice return.

That guys an idiot and dont quote him and me at the same time.

College football has a ton of flaws, but it's better than 99% of the tv out there. I've said this 4,304,495 times on here.

With that being said, Unsure who wins, but college football tells you the overwhelming majority of the games end up being blow outs.

My responses was to both of you since the three of us were talking about the same game. Just tell him the Vols suck and move on if you don't like him. Idc what beef you two have.

Anyways. I think the Vols win and cover. Last I checked the line was 11 right now? It'll be a close game in the first half but I believe Tennessee pulls away in the 3rd quarter. I don't think it'll be a straight blow out. Florida has a good thing going but that Tennessee offense will be too much. Hooker continues throwing TDs

JJ 6 catches 48 yards

Slay 2 ints 19 return yards

oh right. He only held on to 2. I was thinking about him having 5....

Well, when matched up Slay had him beat in both stats. Jefferson had 1 catch for like 8 yards or something like that.

He had 5 deflections. Just an absolute great game by Slay

He follows me around like a weirdo.

It opened at 3, and has shot up to 11, which is wild. I see it at 10.5 some places.

I dont know whos going to win, but as mentioned, lot of college games end up in blow outs. I was looking foward to the Penn State/Auburn game(supposed to be close) and we saw how that went

I was not at all. I'm not a PSU fan but I thought they were underrated coming into the year. Auburn is just a bad team rn. Dude won't even last to mid-season

I can't remember the last time I felt this good the day after an Eagles game

Well.  He rooted for the death of my dog a few weeks back, for starters.  He offers to meet people to fight and then doesn’t answer the bell or disappears.  He’s been the blog troll for years. Shall I go on?

I remember hearing all about that. Idc if he doesn't like me quoting you 2 together. We were talking about the same thing. I know #postcountislife but it's convenient that way

Hurts most certainly played the best game of his career last night, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.  He still does not even have as many TD's as Tua had on Sunday.  The Vikings also did not play well, and the Eagles were able to stay on script the entire game.  Everybody talked about Cousins on Monday Night and primetime games yesterday, and he was that same guy.  Are we going to look at this win the same if the Vikings lose to the Lions on Sunday to move to 1-2 ??

Now the next step is to do that again, and then do it again.  Then we need to see what happens in a game that the Eagles are behind and are obviously passing, can he do what Tua did on Sunday and lead a comeback down 3 scores.

Once again, Hurts most certainly played the best game of his career last night, but lets not crown him off of one game, because if we are, then Tua is currently the best QB in the NFL.

But between the two "trip companies" on 94.1 and 97.5 It sounds like north of 20K.

300 dollars with Philly trips got you bus down and back. Lower Level Ticket. All you can eat, all you can drink beer and a t shirt lol.

Thats not a bad deal at all

I went last year for under 100 bucks.

Agreed. I honestly can admit I didn't think I would ever see Hurts read a defense like that and spread the ball and make accurate passes throw after throw like that. I need to see more like you said, but this is the step in the right direction I needed. If you look at the schedule right now there aren't many elite teams left. Maybe the Packers? Cards looked good, mainly the way they came back. Colts, Cowboys aren't good this year. 12+ wins isn't out of the question if Hurts keeps this up. One game at a time though.

And people are forgetting, be it intentionally or not, Wentz was one of the best QBs in the world for 2017 and we saw how that has turned out.

Hurts has a lot more to show before we start talking about him being the franchise and everyone being wrong.

I want to say a few things about Hurts last night...

1.  I have been radically anti Hurts from day 1.  I hate running QBs.  I hate the notion of tolerating a running QB who is a mediocre passer.  It doesn't work.  Never has, never will.  I will nitpick and bash every single game in which our offense scores 41 points while Hurts runs for 130 yards with 2 running TDs while passing at a 55% clip on high school level dump offs.  Those performances enrage me.  I can't even enjoy the wins and all I do is look to the horizon for a new QB.

2.  Last night was not one of those performances.  He looked more like Drew Brees than Lamar Jackson.  The running was entertaining, but it was mere window dressing over the real substance of the performance, which was passing.  He made the right reads, pulled the right levers in the right amount of time, threw with touch, and moved the ball effortlessly with his arm.  It was fun to watch, enjoyable to think about his future, and probably the best Eagle QB performance since Foles in 52.  I can get behind a QB that plays like this.  That "just win" crap when Hurts is in a caretaker RB offense makes my blood boil...but last night, he did a lot more than just win.

3. Was that sustainable?  Can he build on that?  Can that be the real Hurts instead of the crude, reluctant passer who deserves to be called a running back?  Well, now I'm willing to wait a bit to find out (I don't really like the 2023 QB class, for what it's worth).  I've gone from radically anti-Hurts to curiously sitting right in the middle of the fence.

4. The arm strength does bother me.  Forget Allen/Mahomes...Hurts is absolutely in a below-average category for arm strength amongst NFL starters.  Rapid, perfect reads and a compact release can overcome that, but it is noticeable that he can't paste the ball onto a target on a bang-bang play.

5.  Aside from the vastly improved passing performance last night, he also did a much better job avoiding hits when he did run.
