EMB Blog: 2022 Regular Season (and beyond?) - NO POLITICS

He's now moved onto Burrow is unproven.

Has Burrows by reaching the Super Bowl shown to be "proven”?  His first year wasn’t great and his performance this year hasn’t been great.  He really only shined in college one year with some pretty good WRs. Guess that makes Nick Foles "proven”.  Nick has his jersey in the HOF for his TD/Interception record year and got hot at the end of 2017 and won a Super Bowl.  If Hurts makes the playoffs this year and wins to get into the Championship game, is he "proven”? (Playoffs in his first two years as a starter.)

Looking for your definition of proven, not AFan’s.  The "proven” has become the new "elite”.  Who can forget those discussions about whether Eli is/was "elite”. The Blog dictionary needs a definition of "proven”.

Pass rush rate?!?   Please tell me you’re not referencing PFF.  I know you are.  Ok, you’ll need to be kicked in the nuts.

Losing and adversity will happen.  No doubt.  Last year was the honeymoon.

We were 1-3, then 2-5, then 3-6 last year...does that not count?

Eagles 51

Commanders 38

And then we beat Trevor Simien, Garrett Gilbert and the who's who of guys who should not be NFL starting QB's to squeak into the playoffs.

Big win against the Redskin covid replacement team

This video shows the blitzes we ran against the Vikings.

(343) EVERY BLITZ HIGHLIGHTS! JONATHAN GANNON FINALLY DID IT! MINNESOTA VIKINGS VS PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - YouTube

Some notes, the first play isn't a blitz. We only bring 4 - the two OLBs bail into coverage and Edwards rushes from his spot. But Edwards is matched up with a RB, and that doesn't go well for the RB.

On the second play, Patrick Johnson gets a nice bull rush.

The third play is the Maddox int with White as a DE.

So a lot of interesting looks by the Eagles. Hopefully we will see a more aggressive defense since our corners look like they can hold up in man.

The biggest question surrounding him was did he have one good year in college and would that translate to the pros.

His first year, without Chase, he was doing pretty well, 13-5 TD/INT ratio, 65% completion rate, then his knee was completely mangled.

Second year, coming off that injury, they add Chase and his numbers sky rocket. 70% completion, 34/14, 4611 yards. Takes his team all the way to the Super Bowl, IN SPITE OF the worst o-line in the league.

Aside from just the raw numbers, he certainly passes the eye test. I'm not sure exactly what he would have to do to be considered "proven" at this point. To me, he's certainly proven that he can play well, on the biggest stages, and he just seems like a guy who wins. He's the exact kind of player I'd want my team to have.

The average tenure of NFL head coaches is 3 years.  The Eagles don't replace head coaches as often; 4-5 years seems to be the life cycle.

Buddy Ryan -- 5 seasons

Rich Kotite -- 4 seasons

Ray Rhodes -- 4 seasons

Andy Reid -- 14 seasons

Chip Kelly -- 3 seasons

Doug Pederson -- 5 seasons

Sirianni in his first year exceeded expectations; 9 wins was 2-3 more than most expected.  This season 10-11 wins was the expectation and it's a good start.

Sirianni won't get fired because his "schtick gets old"; he'll get fired when the team fails to meet increasing expectations 2 years in a row.  That might be in Season 3 and 4 -- time will tell.  He objectively knows how to scheme an offense, and hasn't been prone to in-game bonehead decisions.

I can't get into the all-22 on NFL+. It keeps going to the subscription page. Is anyone else having that problem?

Unless Jalen is not in the future plans, and the cap situation may play into that, and Sirianni may get more time with a new QB.

These throws look even better from the endzone view.

By all reports, Nick has the Locker room and the guys are buying what he's selling. He seems upfront and genuine.

There may be more to the T shirt thing than what we perceive from the podium.

Inside joke with the Team? Make a play, get your face on the Coaches T? Closed doors hold many secrets.

A bit goofy in Public, yeah, sort of, but as long as the Team responds he can use whatever works as far as I'm concerned.

Current results say it works, whatever it is.

Waiting for the Slay T next.

I think the t shirt thing is pretty simple. Small business cuts a deal with a player and makes t shirts that display something from that player.  Coach gets one and wears it for the media because he likes to dress pretty casual.  That supports primarily the player but may also help a small business in the process and if folks buy the shirt, probably some extra change in the player’s pocket.  Seems like a no brainer win for everyone.

Saw that Kelce is starting an apparel company.  Next career, manufacturing t shirts for players and using Nick as his model.  Pretty soon we will all be wearing his Dawg Mentality shirts. Can already buy Chris Long’s Waterboy Apparel, money all going to charity.

You need to sign in on the main NFL.com page and then go click the NFL+ logo.

I did that. From there I get into NFL+ but when I go to the game replay it sends me to the subscription page.

OK, thanks.

Any advanced stats on Patrick Johnson in the Vikings game? Seemed to be an upgrade on Barnett in the pass rush department, but maybe I'm just imagining that

Ok. This NFL+. How much and what do you get?

9.99 a month, replay and condensed game shortly after the game ends, and all 22 whenever they get off their @ss and get it done.  Says the following day for all 22, but still not up for the Eagles game.
