Looks orange. But take it to Twitter maybe it catches on like the gold or blue dress thing a couple years ago

You just wait til the Phillies play tonight

They're going to get it handed to them against ATL, and in their last 3 games of the year in HOU.

Have to hope they get enough wins against the Nats and Cubs to carry them across.

Only saving grace against the Astros is that i can see them resting some of their guys for the postseason as they’ll have homefield locked up. But yeah they likely get destroyed in those two series. Even with the win last night they have played really poorly this month. And the bullpen since knebel and dominguez got hurt has been really inconsistent just throwing strikes. And offense is hit or miss.

A good look at our defensive line.

(345) Why Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Line is MUCH BETTER than you realize - YouTube

It shows how multiple we are, especially in how we use Sweat. I saw him line up all over the place, and he wins in a variety of ways. Reddick also showed some juice as a pass rusher, as did Hargrave.

One thing I noticed is that the Vikings didn't run many, if any, screens or misdirection plays, which we struggle with. The only one I remember was the jet sweep to Reagor.

I am going to remwatch the Minnesota Packers game to see how they attacked them. But my guess is that Cousins just passed to Jefferson over and over again, which we took away with Slay.

Nope.  The "Sportfishing" lettering (back) under Scorpion was supposed to be in red but they printed it in hunter orange.  If you compare the coloring under Encantada (front), you can tell they used two different colors.  Have no idea why they would think that would be acceptable to anybody

What Jalen Hurts is doing is building a brand.  It's one thing to have a personal logo like so many athletes do, but it's another to want to build a brand and sell that brand.  It's very Tom Brady, LeBron James, Cam Newton type of behavior. From the production videos of work outs, talking in the 3rd person, countless situational quotes or having someone handle his twitter feed, everything Jalen Hurts does is pre-planned and thought out.  The "not too up, not too down" way of speaking during press conferences just comes off as robotic and again, coached. To me, it gives off a huge unauthentic and fake vibe.  It's just the feeling I get and hey, maybe that's who he is but I don't think is.  We all perceive things different.  I'm sure there are plenty who think the way he handles himself is great.

I like authentic humans though.  If I had the chance to sit down and talk to Jalen Hurts or Brandon Graham, I'm sitting down with BG. He's authentic and genuine every time he speaks.

Success can change people.  Just look at Justin Jefferson.  He's coming off as a humongous tool now.  He wasn't that way his rookie year and wasn't all that bad much of last year...now however, you're either seeing the true JJ or he's becoming what he thinks JJ should be.

Jefferson is up for an extension after this year.  Of course, he is touting his success.   He is trying to maximize his second contract.

Players would be foolish not to maximize their marketability while they are in the public eye.  Especially when they are on their first contracts.

BG today is not the BG that looked like a flop.  He is experienced and media savvy now compared to then.

Epps was a sixth round draft choice of the Vikings not an UDFA.  Actually liked him in the draft and liked the pick up.  If you recall, Sendejo, who we signed as a FA from the Vikings, other than almost killing Maddox, was a flop and we waived him mid season. The Vikings swooped in and signed Sendejo waiving Epps thinking they could sneak him to the practice squad.  Howie claimed Epps and put him on the roster in Sendejo’s spot.  I looked at it as an Epps for Sendejo swap and that we got the better end of the deal. Several other posters opined similarly and I could have sworn you were one.  Epps looked talented coming out of Wyoming, albeit a little green.  Always a question about whether Ss from those schools might make the leap.

A QB is supposed to lead by example and in putting in the work, Hurts has.  Maybe you seem him as self promoting and selfish.  Nothing has leaked from the locker room to suggest his teammates agree.  I think teammates tend to gravitate to other teammates that put the work in.  Band of brothers.

Speaking of work, I loved Travis Kelce commenting on Hurts’ squats and Jason’s response around the 40 minute mark of their podcast.  Jason said that Hurts has built up his core but now has changed his focus of his working out to fluidity and how fluidity is more necessary as a QB.  We hear all the time about Hurts arm strength.  I wonder if he had too much of the wrong kind from working out.  Remember how bad Wentz was after the offseason of gaining strength.  He was tight. Sounds like Hurts may have begun to understand that.  In college with the focus on QBs being able to run, coaches may not resist QBs weight training. But not in the pros.  With the base he has, I doubt Hurts becomes considerably weaker but I could see him losing the tightness and gaining fluidity and that may help his arm strength. (Probably not quite the right term as I would bet on Hurts winning at arm wrestling with 95% of the other NFL QBs).

The question that jumps to my mind in reading this is, what QBs don't put in the work? That's the issue I have. With Hurts discussions, many times the first thing people bring up is how hard of a worker he is. You think he works any harder than Tom Brady, Josh Allen, et al? I'm sure there's a few outliers out there, like the Jay Cutlers of the world, but I think every single QB in the league worth his salt could easily be described as "putting in the work". So why is Hurts credited with it as being a badge of honour? It's part of the reason there's such a backlash against him, because it feels like there was need to point these kind of things out, because his play left so much to be desired (which hopefully changes).

I don't think Justin Jefferson is making himself look good though.  He's making himself a hated player.  It's painful for Eagles fans to watch him be so good because of the whole draft situation but I still appreciated what he was doing week in and week out.  Maximize your value by playing lights out on Sundays.  Not by opening your mouth and making yourself in to a villain or caricature of who you really are.

Other guys who are authentic that I really enjoyed were Chris Long, Vinny Curry and LeGarrette Blount.  Malcolm Jenkins, for as much as I disagree a lot of his thoughts, was authentic and genuine in everything he spoke about and acted on.  I can respect that.  I can't put my finger on why but I think I did my best to explain why everything Hurts does feels like an act.

He said all the right cliches after but was pouting in game so much that AJB was spotted consoling him

He was "pouting” (projection) or showing unhappiness after missing on a catch opportunity IIRC. For all any of us know, he may have been reacting to a twinge in the groin pull area or to what I thought was illegal contact not called by the referee.  Heck, he could have been upset at the effects he was feeling from eating Taco Bell with HE before the game.

The all-22 is up. I thought the OL played only so-so, by their standards. Both Lane and Mailata gave up inside pressures, as did Seumalo. Dickerson definitely was downfield on those two calls. Kelce was on a couple but wasn't called, one of them being the inside screen to Gainwell that turned into an INT.

The DL was terrific. They started a number of series in the 4i and completely stoned the Vikings' running game. Cox, Hargrave, and Williams all had several pressures, as did Reddick. Davis had some nice plays that won't show up in the stat sheet but isolated teammates as he absorbed double-teams.

Remember how teams would kill us with underneath stuff last year? Faster LBs and DBs are taking that away and the DL is doing a good job of pressuring straight up the middle. Cousins was throwing off his back foot all night.

It's still early, though, but I'm getting excited.

I agree, I don't think Hurts works any harder than the average NFL QB.  Hopefully his outside business interests (clothing line, speaking engagements, etc.) don't detract from the on-field product he puts out there each week.

Not limited to Hurts -- I found it comical the 'pumping of tires' on all players through the offseason.  Maybe it's a product of the more intense media coverage nowadays, but take IND as an example.  All we kept hearing was what a profound impact Matt Ryan had as soon as he walked into the facility (on water, it seemed).  The only thing he's done on the field for the Colts so far is crap the bed.  60% passing, 1 TD and 4 INT, winless against two of the worst teams in the NFL.

It's still early, though.

When has having a big ego in sports been an issue for success? If he wants to have the ball in his hand and make key plays, his ego is what will drive him to become a better passer and QB.

There are two kinds of big egos … those that need to be fed by others, and those that are able to (and do) feed themselves.  The second group meets little outside nourishment.

I don't know if it was as apparent to everyone as it seemed to me, but, this was Wentz. We watched years of hero-ball and heard a lot of "that's the way I play" at press conferences. For me, certainly not everyone, he was the pinnacle of arrogance and unteachable in terms of evolving him as a QB. It appears as if Hurts is teachable and that speaks to a less arrogant individual who can listen to others, understand his own tendencies and improve. Every player in today's NFL has a way of celebrating. Hard to label any of them as a arrogant other than TO and the sharpie. He still chooses to make plays from his past experience but the most recent game showed a lot of talent beyond a simple RB playing the QB position as he has so often been labeled on this blog.
