Do you subscribe to Netflix directly, or through Amazon Prime?  The cost is the same and if you subscribe through Amazon you still can access Netflix independently as well.

Oh that's why.  My subscriptions are separate.

Sure you can go from Netflix to Prime with the click of a button. Or you can go home to your app tray lineup but none of that is an instantaneous as hitting last channel or hitting the channel number you want.   There is always going to be a load time now.  It might "only” take 30 seconds but it’s no where near the same as Last Channel.

You are using your fire stick controller.  There is no INPUT button on it.  Use your TV's controller.  That is where the instant toggle works.

Ted Nguyen at The Athletic is a good follow.  Interesting piece on the Lions run offense.  For those with subscriptions.  https://theathletic.com/3613162/2022/09/22/lions-offense-ben-johnson/?source=pulsenewsletter&campaign=5097678

For others, some tidbits from the article:

The popularity of the outside zone system that stems from Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay has led to more teams employing a Vic Fangio-style defense, which asks defensive linemen to play slower and take on a gap-and-a-half, rather than fly upfield and play only one gap. Theoretically, the defense can live in light boxes and invest more personnel in defending the pass as long as its front can slow down ball carriers long enough for the secondary to help. This works well against zone runs because offensive linemen move laterally, but the Lions like to run right into the teeth of defenses with authority. They want their offensive line, one of the best in the league, firing off vertically and punishing defenders.

Campbell has given first-year offensive coordinator Ben Johnson play-calling duties, and the Lions have truly been system-agnostic, taking bits and pieces from multiple systems. A lot of their passing game comes from McVay, not because it’s in vogue but because it’s what quarterback Jared Goff knows and has had success running. The Lions’ running game, however, is one of the most diverse attacks in the league. Based on my charting of their first two games, they’ve run:

  • Trap. wham, long trap
  • Duo, counter duo
  • Counter, super counter, YY counter
  • Inside zone
  • Power
  • Wind back
  • Outside zone, zorro
  • Toss crack
  • Sweep
  • G-lead

Their run game menu includes a variety of gap scheme runs (physical runs with down blocks and pullers). Many teams have traps and whams in their playbook, but the Lions use them as some of their base run plays. On the second snap of the season, they hit an "influence wham” play for a 50-yard gain.

He left out the split zone, which we run a lot. And the toss crack has pretty much been outlawed. I have no idea what a super counter or a YY counter is. Another play we run that no one else does, at least that I've seen, is a TE lead. It starts like a split zone, with the TE pulling across the formation behind the OL. Everybody else blocks down and the QB follows the TE. Maybe Baltimore does it because of Lamar but no one else. I'll see if I can find an example.

My TV is an actual FireTV so that is the entire TV controller.

Ahaah. My Sony flatscreen has its own controller.

Decided to go this direction when I cut all cable.  Really solid product, especially when they go on sale.

Not all TV’s have that.  My main TV is older (my late dads) so it doesn’t have that remote.  It’s kind of a pain.  I’ll be replacing this TV in the next few years I assume.

That's Amazon's Fire Stick remote.  I attached one to an old TV and was able to stream effectively.

I don't like games on Prime or AppleTV.  The delay while switching between providers is annoying.

I have the far superior product, and have my old 3rd gen one also hooked up to my main TV so I can cast from my laptop.

Exactly.  Probably wanted them to work hard, prepare and conduct yourself with class and dignity on and off the field.

And they were like, Nah.

Because we enjoy spending 300 bucks extra. Don't money shame us

Do the commodes have a good enough defense to get turnovers on us? Hurts is extra careful with his passes. (but he should get used to a little danger now and again)

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 27

OT win

Bonus: Epps gets an INT, but fumbles the return, and Washington gets it back.

What does that mean?  Is it saying you won't be able to watch the halftime show unless you have Apple + ?  If that's the case then great, I don't really watch it anyway.

No. Apple Music is the new sponsor of the halftime show. Before it was the Pepsi Halftime Show. Now it's the Apple Music Halftime show.

I suggested we pull our money together to buy the rights and have the EMB Halftime show a few months ago but we came up just short of the $50M annual bid Apple put out.

First off, it is the fastest processor on the market.  I hit the power button and it is already loaded and ready before the TV is done powering up.

Apps load instantly, and I can switch apps quickly, no delay.  I can switch from Prime Video watching the game, to YouTube TV in literally a second and watch whatever baseball game that is on.

Also, can cast from 1 laptop to all the apple TV's in my house simultaneously.

My favorite feature, is I can play itunes in my office, then select any of my apple tv's upstairs to also play through, and they turn on immediately.

I don't know if firestick has improved that functionality, but appletv lets you create folders for your apps, and put them in any order you want on the home screen.  Also, if I update one of my apple tv's with a new app, or move the app into a folder or somewhere else on the home screen, it updates all the other apple tv's to match.
