Having a cheap QB is a nice thing... if he can play at a high level.    Wentz in 2017 did that.   We'll see what Hurts does this year.  I'm not anticipating an MVP level performance.

 

But, the good news is I think the defense is vastly improved from last year's train wreck.  We'll see if they can handle even middle of the road NFL QBs this year.  Last year they couldn't.

And Howie seems to be setting the team up for another cycle in the 2023 Draft.  Take the QB of the future and then ride his rookie contract out for 5 years.  Collect a Comp Pick for Hurts when he leaves in Free Agency.

So where was the QB we needed this offseason?  Wilson and Watson weren't coming here. The draft was light.

Door #3 was taking advantage of the cap room and add talent so when the right QB shows up, we have the team ready to go.
