I never had a hard landing... I did have a 'long' landing though.    They had to send the mule out to bring the plane back.  .  

 

(They taught us... when you get close to the ground, put up your air brakes and then try to keep it up for as long as you can... it makes for a softer landing... well, I forgot about the air brakes part... so I went gliding about an extra 300 yards.  fortunately, they have a huge field just for such rookie mistakes.  )
