  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

So blending the Jordan Davis and Bradberry/CGJ discussions...

Baltimore, featuring Kyle Hamilton at Safety, is now last in the league in pass defense.  By a lot.

Hamilton is their number 3 safety I believe.

I wouldn't want to see this standing in the corner of my room, in the middle of the night.

You'd rather him in bed with you, I suppose.

IMO, Bradberry is more critical to the effectiveness of this scheme.  Our four-man rush gets home because the QB needs to move off his first read.  That was what Gannon said after the WAS game and I suspect he did the same against Trevor.

I like the skill set that CGJ offers, but would rather go big at CB and be adequate at safety.

Yup. I also think Bradberry would be more likely to sign an extension due to his age. The issue is that he is older, so there is some risk. But a solid corner is much more important than a solid safety.

i was talking to a saints fan at the london game yesterday. He was absolutely fuming about the pick they gave us and even more fuming about CGJ

If it ended today we're picking 4th. Real shot to get Anderson.

Seen her before last night?  You should watch more football.  I like Tony Dungy...a lot.  But he most likely didn't go through as much as the broadcasting trainings that a lot of the younger folks do.  Rodney Harrison is a Fing dope.

No. It is interesting that you are shocked that she presents herself so well.  Kinda weird honestly.

Presentation?  No, content and clarity.

I haven't watched the game yet, so all I have to go on are my impressions while watching the game live in person. I was disappointed that he let the ball hit the ground so often. He was either afraid to field a wet ball in a downpour (understandable) or he was told to avoid doing so (possible but I'm not sure). I also thought he made an idiotic decision to return a kickoff from inside the endzone instead of taking the ball out at the 25 on a touchback. Overall, not a good day for him. But as I said last night, it's foolish to try to evaluate that game through the lens we normally view a game. It was NOT a normal game. Just be happy with the end result and move on.

Speaking of lenses, my binoculars, which I use about 98% of the time during an Eagles game, were useless yesterday. Everything fogged up. I tried for about a quarter to look through the fog but I realized it was never going to work so I put them in my bag under the seat. It was miserable trying to watch action 100 yards away with the naked eye. That only added to the bad mood I was in throughout the day. Fortunately we won so that brightened things considerably. But overall it was a lousy, lousy day.

Did your father watch the game with you, or did he wisely stay home?

Yup. Wish Jason was anywhere that doesn't Dallas.

TJ Edwards would be the most likely candidate to me to sign a new deal this season.

He stayed home. It was the correct decision.

Time for some Stoutland Magic

Doubt it. He's a warm body but a below par athlete at his size. Guard only.

Im so glad theyre cratering.  Irsay is a POS and always wants to run his mouth

I wonder if hes still planning a few super bowl wins over the next decade.  Clown.

This I never understood. There is no salary cap for your staff, so why not buy the best you can.

I get the HGIC, and big chair, but money should never be an issue for assistant coaches

I think Stoutland is among the highest paid assistant coaches in the NFL. As he should be.

Lurie ain't cheap.

I'd imagine we are picking in the second 5.  Too many really bad teams.

Root for a deep QB class.

One thing's for sure.  Driscoll, for as good as he battled, doesn't have the size to anchor LT.   He showed a lot absorbing the initial blow but sometimes that blow pushed him back 2 yards immediately.

Another thing to note.  TJ Edwards, Marcus Epps and CGJ don't come off the field.  Those are my 1-3 as of now for new contracts.  Bradberry is making it hard to not want him back too.

Would love to see more from the draft picks.  Davis and Calcaterra played 17 and 11 snaps on O and D respectively while Dean and Johnson played 17 and 14 on ST.  None for Jurgens.  I'm OK with Dean and Johnson being core ST for now but I would really like to see more from Davis.  He made his first there he is play but then was on the sideline.  I'm sure his impact is felt not only on the stat sheet but still 17 snaps for the 1st rounder you traded up for...not good.  That was my biggest gripe with Davis.  You're investing multiple draft picks to get a player who even in his prime might not be playing 50% of the snaps.  Not questioning his talent one bit just looking a the investment.

Davis is a work in progress, he's got great power, but technique is limited, so is recognition. When he learns to split double teams, not just try to overpower the guy in front of him, god help NFL QBs!

The real surprise is Tuipulotu, really stepped up his game. With Cox playing better, Hargrave, Tuip and Williams, there's only so many snaps to go around for the interior 2/3 linemen - but I expect Davis' workload to gradually increase as he develops.

Saints have a brutal schedule. If they don't beat the Seahawks this week, I don't see a win for them for a while.

I’d rather go with the 24 year old for the same $ and constrained resources. Zech did well yesterday, and a CB can be drafted early.

How would you suggest the punter adjust what he did in order to accomplish the end result you (and I) desire?  The return was a very good play by the Jags player.  The touchback was an unfortunate bounce.  @Iggles_Phan did make the very valid suggestion that Siposs work on coffin corner kicks.  That would eliminate the "bounce factor" as well as the possibilityt of a return.

Siposs has absolutely no touch on his punts at all, and its like he has no accuracy either

This is his profession, he needs to do more than just kick it as hard as he can.  Look around the league and you see punters placing balls accurately, getting hang time when they need it, or using different techniques so that balls die or spin sideways/backwards when they land.

Every punter we've faced this year has massively outperformed him

EDIT:  Per pro-football-reference, he is playing less than half of the defensive snaps.  https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HamiKy00.htm

I was in on him but man what a mess so far

Agreed.  It could all fall together nicely.

However Texans, Steelers, Panthers, Bears, Jets, Giants...   That's a lot of drech to be worse than.
