I don't.  The great part about rookie contributions and a rookie draft class is that they are significantly cheaper than veterans.  Brown is a very expensive player.  That negates the rookie class benefit.

Of course. But there was clearly no offensive weapon we were getting with that pick that would be producing a fraction of what AJ has done thus far. The fact that Cox and Hargrave are playing well, TJ Edwards, and Kelce of course is keeping our rookies from having the be "the guy" too quickly. I think it's awesome.

Just saw Stacey Dales on NFLN, they're making her stay in England until all the London games are done...dunno if it's the gloomy UK skies, but she looks a lot worse than I last remembered her. I also had no idea she was Canadian (her head doesn't appear to flap) and she was a #3 overall pick in the WNBA. What a life.

I agree.  But, he's disqualified from the 'rookie class' discussion because of the cost.  And yes, it is great that the rookies are behind vets that are playing well.  Hopefully in a year's time we see the young guys and the vets some of the vets move on.  Jurgens looked great in the preseason (obviously he'd go through some growing pains if he needed to play right now, but could also flash), the others... not really sure what we have.  Hopefully they turn out like Trotter.  When he was drafted in 1998... he never saw the field, but really exploded on to the scene the following year with JJ in his second season.   I'd love to see that.

It's a good situation to be in.  And hopefully a year from now, we'll get to reap the benefit of rookie contracts with our starters.

Why did they include a face mask penalty on this?

We're going to make trades at the deadline. A very easy solution is trading for a WR or CB with PR experience. Ex: The Jets have Berrios as their WR #4/5 and could trade him. Desmond King of the Texans can play multiple ST units and would be a reasonable backup CB in-game too.

Covey somehow leads the league in total returns.

Really liked King in the draft and he would be decent CB depth but I think he is too slow to return anything.

I feel like Slay just didn't want to play in those conditions.

I can't wait for this game on Sunday. It has been years since I have seen them in AZ. I usually need to fly out for games.

No way. Slay is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Expect him to be all in every time.

I think speed is overrated for a returner.  Brian Mitchell was never a 'fast' guy, but he was smart and he was fearless.  He looked for a seam and went N-S almost every time.  Great punt returners can just be those that are willing to run in the opposite direction as about 12 other dudes.  Mitchell always ran through arm tackles.

Javonte Williams tore his ACL, and LCL. Out for the year. Now I'm off to trade for Melvin Gordon in my one fantasy league...

He was also a tank. 5’10”, 225. Outweighed Covey by more than 50 pounds.

Well, speed sure won’t hurt. That said King has the instincts and overview for sure.

Wouldn’t even be opposed to try that. 👍🏻

Some perspective...

All we have is a four-game winning streak.

There were 20 4+ game winning streaks last season.  (21 if you split the Chiefs 8-game streak in two.)

Bucs, Rams, Cowboys, Packers, and Bills each had two of these win streaks.

Still enjoying it.

I'd like to add in that he has coaching here, a decent from 4 that he didnt have before. An offense that keeps the defense off the field and thus giving him a rest. Also has an offense that scores which puts the opposing teams offense behind the 8 ball.

Slay sounds like he can play

Maddox is out for Zona

Sounds like Mailata is out for a couple weeks

Dillard making good progres...

So if Slay, Maddox and Dillard return soon and Mailata is back in a few weeks only one really out once again is Barnett?

Right! How is he holding up?

Had a nice TFL early and then...crickets. I think it was due to Jax formations more than anything else.

Box score watching, JD was in on 4 tackles including a TFL playing 17 snaps of 47ish (that’s not a lot but proportionately more than some prior games). I think he’s a subpackage player at the moment, but doing his job.

The next arm tackle, hell the next 2 fingers that Covey runs through will be his first.  The dude is as light as a kite out there with absolutely no burst, speed or change of direction.  His one long return where he reversed field was the slowest developing return just to get to the 30 I've ever seen.  I feel like anyone else hits that corner and takes it.  It was there for him and he could barely get to the edge.  He's totally uninspiring as a returner.  Steady at catching the ball is the best we're getting this year.

Meh that offense is bad and Melvin has looked pretty bad. He should be opened but I wouldn't give up a lot for him.

With Cordarelle Patterson hitting the IR I'd look at Tyler Allegeir if you need a RB. Won't be a year long thing probably but he has looked decent at least.

Just hit me that a 4-0 team as of today has the 3rd overall pick in the draft. And we don't need a QB. Will Anderson come on down!

I think the Eagles have done enough good things and showed well enough en route to 4-0 that it’s alright to get carried away and to see this as more than the 4 game winning streak it is.

Of course, what I think doesn’t matter.  We’re all fans, this is all for fun, and we can get carried away in August at 0-0 too.

Regardless, I think they’ve done enough to really enjoy this 4-0 run (I usually don’t think that).

The biggest question remains if Hurts can sustain his passing from weeks 2+3.  If not, they’ll come back to earth (and will stay there) sooner or later.  If he can, then it’s going to be multiple championship contending runs in the next few years.  We’ve also got a very weak NFC lining up for us, much like AR’s 2001-8 Eagles.

He wasn't in Sunday

@HazletonEagle did you get to see any of Pacheco's runs last night? His contact balance is next level, very Kamara-like.

Any college RBs this year with great contact balance off the top of your head?

But yea, seems right.

Side note, if Barnett comes back healthy/normal and isnt too dumb that brings nice depth
