thats why I started with my WIll Anderson conversation. If you're top 5 you can get Anderson, or you can trade #4 or #5 for WAYYYYY more then just a 2024 pick.

If the Eagles at 5 and WIll Anderson is gone it means theres 2 QB's sitting there that 3-4 teams wants, that'll fetch a lot.

IF you're at 3 or 4, you're probably getting Will Anderson

*IF*** your 7-8-10... trade back. Get 2023's 1st rounder, probably a 2023 3rd rounder and there first in 2024.

Getting a RB in top 10 is dumb. Getting a 3rd WR on this team is dumb.

The QBs beside Stroud aren't exactly looking like NFL killers this year while the DE class is strong this year.

I feel like Slay just didn't want to play in those conditions.

Back may have been tight. Glad he got a week of mostly rest. McPhearson looked pretty good out there.

I can't wait for this game on Sunday. It has been years since I have seen them in AZ. I usually need to fly out for games.

Wait, didn’t anybody tell you? You’re in charge of "detaining” @E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles

So I take it that people are underwhelmed with the crop of QBs coming in 2023?

Nah.

IF you cant get Anderson trade back. You're gonna have 3-4 QB's in the top 10. 2 WR's... maybe 3 which we dont need and what looks to be a RB(F -that)

Trade the saints pick back to the teens and get a 2024 first rounder along with the 2023.

If a team falls in love with a QB, they'll pay through the nose to move up, something on the order of 2 1st rd picks and a 2nd rd pick and a starting player.

So say we trade down to #12, #44 to go with our picks, 1st rd pick in 2024 and a starting RG or CB or S.

Good thread. I noticed in-game that Lloyd was in a blender overcommitting to zone read keepers. The middle was so open.

That actually gets very interesting, if Hurts proves out this season, and we have a top 5 with a couple QBs on the board, what are the odds Howie trades down for a boat load of picks the nxt two seasons - which will be needed if they sign Hurts to a big money extension.

Nope.  Take the stud with the higher first rounder.

Use the other first round pick to get resources in 2024.  Teams will pay a premium for the fifth-year option.  (Think 2018)

I'd rather get a stud like Anderson than trade down.

Why not both?   Start the bidding war... flip the pick to the team right behind you, so that they don't lose out on their guy... and then draft the stud you wanted all along.  When QBs are involved, teams will pay to flip one spot to make sure no one jumps over them.  I'd do it for less return on value, because I still want my stud... but a top 3 pick is a great spot to be in with multiple QBs on the board.  Way back when... the Washingteam scored the top defensive player in the draft AND a crap load of picks by not being blind to deals.

Washington had #5... they took the Saints deal and scored their entire draft (#12, #71, #106, #144, #179, #218) AND got their first (#2) and third (#64) the following year... moving back to #12.  They gave up #12, #71, #106, #143, plus their 3rd rounder the following year (#87), to get up to #7.  They selected Champ Bailey.

In all, they got Bailey, a first (#2 overall) the following year, and a higher 3rd, plus a couple late round picks by being shrewd.  I could see Howie doing something like that.  He essentially did almost that same thing with the Davonta Smith deals.  Just have to hope you can find the suckers... ;)   Generally, QB hungry teams are those suckers.

But the odds of getting an elite prospect on a rookie deal won't come around again. You take the best non QB player on the board.

Exactly. If we're picking top 5 and Will Anderson is sitting there and they trade down, I'm gonna need a new TV.

Zech looked pretty good. When they drafted him, I thought he was a nice late pick. Ceiling is probably a good to very good #2 CB, which ain't bad for where they got him. He held his own yesterday.

Wrong one.   You want to nab this guy:  @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!.

Leave these guys alone: @E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles or @E_A_G_L_E_S EAGLES!!!

F it, grab 'em all just to be sure.

Ya I'm not maligning him in any way, smart veteran move in hindsight.

I'm seeing some stuff saying that Mailata's MRI came back and it's not good news.  Possible significant injury and he'll be out a bit.  Being reported on twitter by Jeff McLean.

I follow McLane and haven’t seen that.

Without knowing specifics, I was stating a general approach.  Take the 10-rated player rather than trading back for 9's and 8's.

When the dust settles and we know where the Saints pick is, where the QB-needy teams pick, where the teams with multiple first rounders are, the quality of the QB class, etc., then I'd be in on scenario debates.

I agree... but Howie is going to Howie.

Even I'm starting to think Hurts is a better option vs them so hell has frozen over.

4 TDs 6 INT

Smart move by Ertz to rile up the rest of the team by complimenting Hurts’ work ethic.

He didn't say anything about work ethic. He commented on his erection.
