Nobody really stands out to me.Ā

There are some coming down the pipeline.Ā  Caleb Williams, Quinn Ewers, Cade Klubnik and of course Arch Manning.Ā  I think these guys will be top 5, top 10 picks when they come out.

JJ McCarthy too.

Not a Penn St fan but Drew Allar has a chance as wellĀ

For other teamsĀ to trade up to our top 5 saints pick to get one?

Covey has a long of 12 yards and average of 5.73 yards per PR. We have seen enough of this experimentĀ

Don't you dare speak ill of Covey!Ā

Good thread. I noticed in-game that Lloyd was in a blender overcommitting to zone read keepers. The middle was so open.Ā

Ā

My problem with the run, needs to limit how much punishment he is taking, and he had a wide open receiver.Ā  Once he moves up in the pocket, and the defense reacts, has to keep the eyes up and distribute the ball.

Or us to take one

At this point, Jalen Hurts has built up so much good will that he would have to have 5-6 consecutive Daniel Jones type games and we’re still probably not taking a QB next year. I don’t know if he gets the monster contract yet, but he’s 100% our 2023 starter.

Those picks are now future DEs or trade bait

I wouldnt pay him, but do you think he is willing to play on the fourth year salary? doubt that. he thinks he is good.

There is zero chance Hurts isnt the starter next year and zero chance we draft a QB to replace him. Ā These washers are hilariousĀ

Is it that you’re stubborn or that you don’t think he’s playing well?

He'd get an extension where the big money kicks in year five.Ā Ā

Did anyone miss Boston Scott yesterday?Ā  I think the more Trey Sermon plays the better he will get.Ā  He showed burst on his touches yesterday.Ā Ā

Brown is third in WR receiving yards.

Sanders isĀ third in RB rushing yards.

Goedert is fourth in TE receiving yards.

Hurts is fifth in QB passing yards.

Not yet….unless he wants to play on 2nd round pick/4th year money. Ā  Ā He has surpassed my expectations so far, but at the end of the day it’s still only one month of play…andĀ not against the greatest competition. I’m still not convinced that he’s going to have a long NFL careerĀ
Ā

You have to keep in mind that paying the type of money that these QBs are getting means they have to be truly ā€˜special’…in my opinion anyway. Ā
Ā

I honestly might be OK with keeping the QB factory rolling and getting another young capable player for 4-5 years at a reasonable number…and being able to keep the team around him stacked because there’s money to do so.
Ā

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some teams take this philosophy since the numbers are getting ridiculous … And never pay the big money for a quarterback…until they find a guy like Mahomes that you can’t say no to

Two things:

1) he scores and he sees he can score. Any other decision is secondary to that one.

2) the shot is deceptive because it’s late to the party. You can see the safety is leaning out. A half second ago that receiver was not a shoo-in to score. It’s fourth down, remember. I’ll post a shot tomorrow to show this more clearly, once the all-22 is up.

3) because I can’t count, see #1.

Saw this pic on Facebook captioned, " I said we're going to watch these Tyrese Maxey highlights, and then you can leave."

There is precedent that QBs don’t work the same as other positions in that regard. The de facto team leader isn’t going to stage a holdout. Kirk Cousins, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott,Ā Drew Brees allĀ played out their rookie deals without a whimper, none were getting top 20Ā money. Brees even knew he wasn’t coming back, they drafted a #1 QB his final year, Ā and he still didn’t demand a trade.

If Howie said we need to see a little more, I don’t see Hurts of all people throwing a tantrum about it. If there’s one thing he’s got, it’s his level-headedness.

Ā

To be clear:Ā I do think we extendĀ him this offseason, but it’s not out of the question to ask for more time.

I heard on NFL Radio today that Darius Leonard (Shaquille)Ā is in the concussion protocol as well — apparently stayed in the game and made two more tackles after he should have been taken out.

Whoever these guys are that are supposed to be calling down to take players out and test them must be checking the cheerleaders for concussion instead ….

Uh oh. Asking about the QBs in 2023 seems to have ruffled some feathers

I wouldn't be ready to give him the franchise just yet. He's played well and has improved but I rather wait longer to see if he can be consistent

Lamar looks great in the regular season but Ravens haven't been successful in the playoffs

I agree with the first part but question the second part. Hurts has played welll enough not to immediately draft his replacement, didn’t mean that 5 games was enough to give him 200m$.

But for the Lamar thing, if that’s your sticking point… then there are only, what, 5-6 franchise QBs?
