So Detroit needs defense. I think they take will Anderson to pair with Hutchinson.

They’re not going to finish bad enough for the first pick. They lead the league in points right now yet are 1-3. They’ll win 5-6 games.

What's pathetic is that I've heard Eagles fans in recent years lamenting that we don't have someone like Wally Henry back there returning punts and kicks. As if he was actually someone who was beneficial to our return game rather than someone who muffed/fumbled/generally bumbled away a playoff game almost singlehandedly.

I was at that game.

Amazing

It sure seems like the Eagles will sign a kicker to their practice squad this week (Sirianni strongly hinted at it during his press conference this afternoon), so that they'll have someone ready for Sunday's game in case Jake Elliott can't kick. Lots of teams are doing that these days, carrying an emergency guy for a few weeks. I've been looking through the list of guys who as far as I can tell are still available. I think the two that I like the most are Brian Johnson and Rodrigo Blankenship. Johnson played for the Saints and Washington last year and actually made all of his field goal attempts, including a last second game winner from 48-yards against the Raiders. Blankenship was cut by the Colts after the opener this year after he missed a winning field goal in overtime. He doesn't have a great leg, but he's been an adequate, albeit below average kicker in the league for a couple of years.

Other possibilities would be Aldrick Rosas (had one very good year for the Giants but has been below average for a few years and has bounced around a lot, getting short gigs with different teams and then getting released; he has a strong leg but is inconsistent), Lirim Hajrullahu (was in Cowboys training camp and was the frontrunner for the job but got beat out), or Cody Parkey (we know who he is and it hasn't been all bad).

They signed Matt McCrane to the practice squad for a couple weeks last year. I hope they don't bring him in again. Not a fan.

The best option would have been Matthew Wright, but he was signed by the Chiefs a week ago and played in the game on Sunday night.

Matt Ammendola was released by the Chiefs last week after missing several kicks. I was surprised they opted for him rather than Wright when their need for a backup kicker arose following the injury to Harrison Butker.

Craziest thing about it? They’re actually gonna let him play Thursday night even though the dude should be in the concussion protocol for sure

After tonight's game the Eagles are in a three-way tie for Pick #3.  Looking ahead at next weekend, Houston could beat Jacksonville, the Saints could beat the Seahawks, the Commanders could beat the Titans, and one or the other of the Patriots and Lions is going 1-4 (unless they tie).  The Bills will almost surely beat the Steelers and the Chiefs will almost surely beat the Raiders, but in both cases the Strength of Schedule will increase for the Steelers and Raiders.  IF the Saints lose, the pick could well be #2 at the end of the weekend.

Nice to see you have time to keep us updated on this key dynamic info here in week #5

:P

This week scares me.  We always seem to have trouble with the Cards and the hype is already underway for the Cowboy game.  This has trap game written all over it.

You should see their schedule; not a lot of games they’re going to be favored in moving forward. And with how they’ve performed against Atlanta and Carolina… could be coaching that’s getting them the worst

didn't people say that about the jags game?

Funny how people still argue we should’ve signed Allen Robinson rather than trading for AJB

Who?

I know I’m way late on this, but it was awesome seeing Doug smiling and soaking up the attention in his return to the Linc. Even after the loss, he was happy as hell.

It was quite the reunion.

AjB is the best thing that happened to the Eagles and Hurts.  He's a true matchup nightmare, game changer.  TO without being, well, TO

Or quite the production. But, he’s been terrific for us no doubt.

Who?

Haven’t seen anyone argue that either but the great offensive mind Sean McVay can’t scheme open another WR? Robinson is good and his usage with the Rams is bizarre., Stafford rarely looks another Wr’s way.

So the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies are both playing Cardinals this weekend?   Wow.   Congrats Phillies.  Can't believe it's been 11 years since the playoffs.   Felt like yesterday they were in back to back World Series.

The Saints are too good to win less than 5 games. They'll finish in the 10-15 range. Missing the playoffs is still a big W for us.

No they aren't. They're lucky they aren't 0-4 at this point. They're a very bad team, with a very bad coach, led by terrible QB play. Kamara being mangled and inefficient, their o-line isn't good, and their defense has certainly regressed after losing a few players. A number of us thought they'd be bad this year, and no surprise to us, they are.

Buffalo

Think they matchup real well with Buffalo. Like both of our lines over them and like the fact that their best RB is their QB who doesn’t run as well as Hurts.

I’m talking about Hurts.  Constantly defending him, won’t make you pals.  It’s cute, but useless.

Everything you post is useless. So why worry about what other people post?

That's a sign you are getting old.

Yeah, the years seem to be speeding by.    It's just a shock the Phillies were in that long of a playoff drought after starting 2000's decade so great.

The two teams I don’t think the Eagles matchup well with, KC and TB. Think they matchup real well with Buffalo. GB doesn’t really worry me.

I think KC, TB, Buffalo, and 49ers are the teams to worry about going forward. 49ers seem to have gained back that momentum from last year. Going to be a really tough team to beat.

Only need to worry about 1 team from the AFC.  ;)

We'll see how the rest of this season goes.  TB, 49ers, GB...  even Dallas with that defense will be a formidable opponent.  Gotta take it one at a time.  This week is Arizona.  Can't take them for granted because they've looked bad so far.   They were a playoff team last year... and the Eagles are notoriously bad when @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! attends a game in AZ.  This will be a real test.      Can they overcome his bad juju?

It seems like anyone who was against that trade at the time simply didn’t understand how good he was.

I admit my assessment was off. I thought he was a low volume one trick pony in a run first offense. He certainly looks to be a complete package here.

admittedly i over value first round picks so the price and cost also weighed into it

Agree they could easily dumpster fire and land us a top 10
