Houston and carolina at the top right now and both need a qb

others remain to be seen. Detroit and washington need one. Maybe giants. Colts and seahawks absolutely

If we did end up with the #1 pick, Howie the trader would have a field day fleecing thos QB-needy teams ... and probably end up with Anderson to boot.

The Bills win with defense and Allen playing hero ball.

It is a passing league bc its the most likely path to lots of points. Running can be effective especially against weaker teams.

the defense and passing is by far likely to win. Sustainable is supposed to mean what exactly? Its an empty buzzword

Been a popular word around here though.

Is it wrong of me to suggest that the eagles play defense, and pass, AND run? Isn't that better?

And no, I'm not suggesting for a second that Hurts is a better passer than Allen. Nor as good.

Ignoring they have an elite wr and elite passer to fluff up hurts’ mediocrity

That isn't what I would do.  If you move Jurgens to RG ... and I say IF ... then you look for your permanent RG in the Draft rather than another Center.  Natural Centers like Kelce and Jurgens do not come along very often.  As a result, my permanent spot for Jurgens after Kelce retires is at Center ... even if that isn't until the 2024 season.

With that said, if Kelce decides to play in 2024, the Eagles are in essence getting substantial added flexibility in the 2023 Draft.  One could even argue that it is an additional Draft pick.

The decision on Seumalo should revolve around (1) how team-friendly a contract extension he is willing to accept, and (2) whether he stays healthy throughout the 17-game 2022 season.  Almost all 31 teams in the NFL would be happy to have a vdersatile starting Guard as good as Seumalo.  If he negotiates hard for a less-friendly contract, then the Eagles are very likely to get a decent Comp Pick in return for him.

The Eagles have played 4 games and Seumalo has already not finished one of them.  He missed most of the last 2 seasons with injuries too.  I just don't see the Eagles investing in him any more than they already have.

oh man Josh Allen is back on the Eagles huh. I fully expect him to pick apart this Cardinals defense.

AWESOME!

Hurts is as good as Josh Allen was three years ago.

Try again.

From an empty athletic article it seems

run the qb? Then yes you are wrong. Run the rbs all you like if it’s working

The hero ball comment applies to Hurts more than Allen.

Allen, 30 rushes, 168 passes, runs 15% of the time.

Hurts, 53 rushes, 123 passes, runse 30% of the time.

Please don't shut up ... I enjoy hearing your opinion, even when I don't agree with it.

With that said, what this well earned accolade appears to indicate is that Jonathan Gannon has figured out how to productively adjust his scheme to make the best use of Reddick.

When our Special Teams were special.

Yup, correct me if I'm wrong but harbaugh was the special teams coach then?

Mitchell at age 34 his last with the eagles averaged 12 with a TD on PR and 27 on KR.

That's pretty good.

KR is a thing of the past in today's league so tough to gauge by today's standards.

Having said that Mitchell was the man, he just caught the ball and ran straight, didn't dance much just fearlessly hit it full speed.

It's not hero ball.  It's an f-ing component of the offense.

Our run game works because the threat of Hurts running occupies at least one defender, allowing our OL to execute double teams and get to the second level.

Further, the runs I've seen criticized were where Hurts was attempting to score.  Show me a play in the middle of the field where Hurts is putting himself in serious risk.

I ignored nothing. You, OTOH, are maintaining your argument in the face of arguments to the contrary. I don't think I even mentioned Hurts.

You seem to think that having an elite WR, which the Eagles have, and an elite QB, and for the sake of argument I will concede that Hurts is not that and Allen is, makes Buffalo better than the Eagles. I am arguing that any shortfall in Hurts' abilities, vis-a-vis Allen's, is negated by the superior running ability, and I should add, much better OL that the Eagles possess. The Eagles would no doubt be better with Allen but they don't have him. Somehow, though, they are scraping together an offense every bit as good.

So, the hero ball statement does not apply to Allen either ??

It's really interesting watching 80s/90s/00s highlights and just how HUGE shoulder pads were.  I always wonder if guys who played during that era would have been even better if they had the advantage of minimal padding, super lightweight cleats and what not.  I look at the pads and cleats I wore and think geez I was so restricted by massive shoulder pads and bricks for cleats.

Meaning, he shut me up about saying that he wasn't producing.  I was complaining about it.  No more.  He's balling out over the last couple games.   And I do hope it is related to Gannon figuring out how the pieces fit together.   I'd have preferred they figure that out before Week 3, but they managed to weather the storm of the first couple weeks while still tinkering around a bit.

I am pleased so far.

If Allen doesn't run then Buffalo doesn't run. The rest of their backfield is poop. The line ain't so great either.

Both QBs run. Hurts runs more. It's the design of the Eagles offense. In Buffalo's case, it's desperation because nobody else can do it.

I really didn't care.

I was looping in the criticism from the Vikings game, where Hurts was ished on for trying to score.
