  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Err - yes and no.

Some markets require them to show certain games but they can show different games in other markets if they want to.

At the end of the day, it’s about ratings and their analysis shows that the Cowboys/Rams game will bring them better ratings than the Eagles/Cardinals game.  (Mostly because Arizona is a much weaker market than either LA or Dallas).

Has little to do with the Eagles - since the Eagles have a strong market and are off to a 4-0 start.

(Had the Eagles been playing either Dallas or LA, they would have likely received a much larger coverage map).

It’s Fox’s "Americas game of the week” and it was announced in May. AGotW always goes to all markets unless a local team is playing.

You should start research on center eligible plays.

Because of course it is.

ARTICLE 5. ELIGIBLE RECEIVERS. The following players are eligible to catch a forward pass that is thrown from behind the line of scrimmage.

(a) Defensive players.

(b) Offensive players who are on either end of the line, provided they either have the numbers of eligible players (1–49 and 80– 89) or have legally reported to play a position on the end of the line. See 5-1-2.

(c) Offensive players who are legally at least one yard behind the line at the snap, provided they either have the numbers of eligible players (1–49 and 80–89) or have legally reported to play a position in the backfield.

(d) All offensive players after the ball has been touched by any defensive player or any eligible offensive player.

Just watch MASH, the movie. It's all there. And, the cheerleaders can add "69 is divine" to their repertoire. It's a win all around.

Looks like (d) is the only option ... and if so, having Kelce pull and an eligible Eagles receiver bat a ball toward Kelce needs to be practiced.

It is a long watch/listen, but it is worth every second!  More than informative!

Unless a you have a run threat QB who with Boobie achieve some play action with their version of tuck and hide.  Carson Wentz was awful at play action because he would extend his arms too far.  In contrast, I don’t think I ever saw it done better than Kenny Anderson.

Elliott is a top 5 kicker. Most importantly he has shown himself to be clutch in high pressure clutch situations which is probably the most important factor for a kicker.

Elliott is not a top 5 kicker. Frankly it's not even close. There is no statistical argument that can be made that he is better than Justin Tucker, Graham Gano, Harrison Butker, Daniel Carlson, Younghoe Koo, or Chris Boswell. If you were to check the stats of those guys over the past couple of years, you would easily find them to have been significantly superior to Elliott.

He's probably in the next tier, along with guys like Brandon McManus, Nick Folk, Evan McPherson, Matt Gay, Matt Prater, Greg Zuerlein, Robbie Gould, Dustin Hopkins, Greg Joseph, and Jason Myers.

How about last year?

About 13th or so if you analyze strictly mathematically. Elliott made 91% of his kicks, but his average distance was only 37.3 yards, which is pretty short. Normally the average is around 39 yards.

There were a ton of kickers who had a higher percentage AND had a higher average distance.

Tucker 95%, 40.5 yards

Gay 94%, 37.9 yards

Gonzalez 91% (same), 40.9 yards

Folk 92%, 38.9 yards

Carlson 93%, 37.8 yards

Koo 93%, 37.6 yards

Patterson (part time only), 93%, 37.6

And then there are the guys who had almost as good a percentage but kicked from much farther distances, which in my view is much better;

Butker 89%, 41.4 yards

Boswell 90%, 39.6 yards

Gano 88%, 40.7 yards

Welcome to the blog where Jake Elliott is easily dispensable and offers nothing of significance for the Eagles while Britain Covey is indispensable and not allowed to be criticized.

Clearly because Jake is African American and Britain Covey is whiter than mayo on kraft mac and cheese.

Yowzers! That’s one of the biggest strawmen I’ve ever seen on here! Maybe the biggest.

Interesting

Kicking is pretty dang good around the league right now it seems.

I feel very comfortable with Elliott.  Hard to believe there are that many better,  and that many more comparable.

I’m white. My whole family is white. I know a lot of white people (some of them are so white that they can't properly season potato salad). However, none of them put mayo on mac and cheese.

Sir, what you just described, is serial killer behavior.
