The ump made the call, because the ball beat Harper to the bag, not because he saw the tag. Where the umpire was, he couldn't see Harper's hand on the bag. He was in the wrong position. He's supposed to be inside the infield, not behind the bag there.

October 9, 20222 yr Almost time to start thinking about how the bullpen is going to play out tonight.

Which is scary cause i have no clue what to expect from the pen at this point, we need 9 more outs and it’s only 2 runs right now. id probably send nola out for the 7th and hope he can get through it unscathed so it’s only 2 innings we have to get out of the pen
October 9, 20222 yr Nola should be good for 1 more inning... but this team needs to get 9 more outs. Countdown is on.

Maybe Brogdon, but Alvarado if they have lefties coming up. I'd rather have Alvarado for the 8th. Robertson likely for the 9th.

The blockbuster deal sends from XXX to Eagles two first-round picks, No. 9 overall this year and a 2023 first-rounder; two second-round picks, No. 40 overall pick this year and a 2023 second-rounder, this year's fifth-round pick, tight end TETETE, quarterback QBQBQB and defensive end DEDEDE. In addition to Hurts, the Eagles will send a fourth-round pick to XXX. The heir apparent QB playing behind a Stoutland O-Line with Brown, Smith and Goedert ... you bet!

Brad Lidge for the 9th. Was almost perfect and almost as automatic as anything I can remember from a bullpen.
October 9, 20222 yr If Nola gets through this inning quick, I might throw him out for the 8th... and have two up in the bullpen behind him in case he gets in trouble.

He was awful in April and May but he really turned his season around after. They had Alvarado, dominguez, knebel and Robertson going before the injuries the pen looked fantastic. Then dominguez got hurt and he hasnt looked good since. I still think he’s hurting.

I lean to the former. These throws across the infield seem weak... like they are aiming the ball. Hoskins is doing a lot of stretching for low/short throws.
October 9, 20222 yr I agree with this move. Nola needed to get that last guy out. Didn't happen. Now we need 7 outs from the bullpen. 😬
