Cards scored 27 once this year but a few people think they will do it against the Eagles?

For my prediction it's more a game flow thing. Eagles are notoriously fast starters this year whereas the Cardinals suck in the first quarter.

If we go up 3+ scores I could see more of a clock grinding strategy out of the Eagles later on with some garbage time Cardinals points off of long slow drives.

The NFL can be a crazy place sometimes.

I need the Eagles to dominate today...  my heart is already weak from the Phillies on Friday and last night.   If they care about me at all, today will be a laugher.

So, I expect another nail biter.

I expect that too. It probably shouldn't be, but just our history against the Cards, recent history in AZ, and the friggin @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! jinx. I expect frustrations.

If they lose, I will shun @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!

How was that not offensive pass interference? After what we saw last week?

That was my first thought. Haven't see a replay but it looked 100x worse.

Edit - Rewatched it and it looks like the block was initiated within a yard of the LOS. But he continued blocking downfield before the ball was caught, so not sure if this is OPI or not.

Another edit - from the rulebook.

"It is also pass interference by the offense to block a defender beyond the line while the pass is in the air, if the block occurs in the vicinity of the player to whom the pass is thrown. See 8-3-1-Note for exception for ineligible players."

So pretty clearly OPI by the rule. Once there is contact beyond one yard, it is PI.

Clearly refs are watching us for these penalties much closer than other teams.

Brilliant

Not to be obtuse — but some of you guys read like you’re new to watching baseball.  Before replay came in it was the norm that if the ball beat the base runner to the bag, the runner was usually called out.  These umpires who’ve been around 15-20+ years and keep their jobs because of their union probably aren’t going to make the transition to calling the game a different way.

Now, if the replay clearly shows that the runner is safe, and MLB chooses to call the runner out even after viewing the replays, then that’s more a problem with MLB and the replay system itself than anything else.

Keep in mind, unless I’m wrong, it’s still the on-field umpiring crew that views the replay and makes the final call on the field.

In all honesty if the ball beats the runner by plenty the runner should be out unless he completely whiffs on tag.

OPI again. Guess the packers can do an illegal pick
