Good point from Chris Canty just now.

This game goes a long way in the decision to extend Jalen Hurts or not.

Its for sure a huge game for Hurts, but also, and maybe more so for the coaches. Siri and Shane need to coach a good game vs this Dallas D. If they try to pull off the same stuff as last week...well for one we're going to lose...but also the trend of inconsistent offense over 6 weeks will be glaring and that will be the biggest fix going forward.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

That gameplan really leaves a permanent bad taste in the mouth.

You have to be concerned they come out with the same idiocy this week. And even if they dont, you still have to be concerned they do such a bad job again at some point this season and you never know when its going to pop up again.

You can never get that worry out of your mind. We saw it once, and it cant be undone.

Unless Jalen wants to cut a super-team friendly contract, the answer should be no.

Im going to try and be hopeful that they recognize the mistakes that were made after AZ. I wasnt big at all on this coaching staff coming into the year, but up until the AZ game it seemed that most of our problems have been poor execution and lack of focus mostly in the 2nd half, which is more of an easy fix and not worth a panic button. 2 weeks in a row of terrible play calling would have me more worried.

Eagles become first offense to score at least two touchdowns on this Dallas defense.

How can performance in statement games not be important in contract decisions?

Good Morning.

AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert are ranked 5th, 14th and 20th in receiving yards, respectfully.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Every game is important.  Each week.  The season is fluid.  You think the GM of a team is sitting down and talking to an agent and keying on "statement games"?  What is important is winning your division and winning playoff games, playoff games are "statement games".  No one saying it's not an important game.  But for Canty to say that this will go a long with in determining his long term contract or whatever he said is silly.  He's a talking head who is paid to have hot takes.  He's been all over Jalen Hurts and the Eagles nuts since Aug, for whatever reason.  I have my suspicions as to why some of the former players like Keyshawn and Canty are kissing his feet.  But I'll leave it at that.  Either way, it's a big game.  No doubt.  But when a GM and Agent get together in the offseason to exchange proposals, I doubt they're talking about a week 6 match-up as much as you think they are.  And again....it's a team game.  The team takes the W or the L...not just the QB.  This is more on RPS Boy and their playcalling.

Those hold weight on college scouting. So...yes. it matters.

Playoff performance matters.  Performance in big games matter but I don't think they outweigh performance during the course of the season and really how well the team does relative to talent.

They matter in college scouting to distinguish the no resistance, early season games against The Sisters of the Blind from games where there is some real competition, like an NFL game.

The Eagles performance in regard to the second part of your sentence will have a huge bearing on the possibility of the first part coming to fruition.  A victory this Sunday provides a very clear path to winning the division; a loss makes the path much, much harder.

If the Eagles lose 38-37 and Hurts looks sharp no one should be harping on what is means for the QB's future.  The fact is, though, DAL with Rush at QB is unlikely to score much more than 20.  This game IMO will come down to how well the offense executes.

Trying to decide if this is a good thing or if its completely gross.   🤔

Well, I think a lot of other things matter besides just a SB victory to opening up the bank.  This team just a few years ago moved on from the QB that started and won in the SB.  The Ravens allowed a SB winning QB to walk in free agency, right after they won the Super Bowl (Dilfer).  So, let's not play crazy hyperbolic with this.   HOW the team reaches the Super Bowl matters when contract time rolls around.

There are different tiers of NFL opponents as well.  Let's not pretend that all NFL teams are created equal.

If the Cowboys score more than 20 this week, it means one of three things has happened:

  • ST completely crapped the bed.
  • The offense completely crapped the bed and gave up defensive TDs (or extremely short fields)
  • The defense completely crapped the bed and let Cooper Rush or the running game go wild on them.

I can't really see the third one happening.  The first two are possible... or some combination of those two.

College scouting?   We’re not talking about college scouting.  We’re talking about a team making a decision that will dramatically effect their franchise for the foreseeable future.  Not how a QB played in the Red River Shootout.  That’s a ridiculous comp.

It's choosing which players you want on your team based on performance on performance in big games.

Yeah.  Not arguing anything about outweighed anything.

The point was that this was a statement game that will go a long way in the decision making process.

Can't help what way the blog morphs the discussion.
