I wonder what your point is, asking that question.

My question to your question is, My god, how are you satisfied with 20 points?

Youll probably say, because they won, and act as though Im not happy with a win.

Ill say, it is not a sustainable way to win, and playing like that will lose against Dallas and other teams who are better than Arizona. And around in circles we go.

Im trying to discuss things philosophically, and you are over here asking dumb questions based on one very basic, obvious thing like the score total. There is no substance behind that.

The holding call at the 15 right after halftime took points off the board,  Devonta Smiths drop on 2nd and long and subsequent sack killed a drive and took points off the board

We had a bunch of mistakes that killed drives and cost us points ..Hurts slipping and falling short of a 3rd and 1 at midfield is another one....

At the end of the day, we had 8 possessions (excluding the final kneel down).  2 TDs, 2 FGs, and 4 punts.

Thats not the end of the world.  We got less drives than you normally expect and made some really bad mistakes.  It wasnt just Hurts, he played OK all factors considered... and listen I was standing right at the front of the Hurts bashing line.

The Chiefs lost 20-17 to the Colts 2 weeks ago. Mahomes is going to have 5 TD games, but even he has  0-1 TD games.

The Rams' last year had back to back losses where they scored 16 & 10 points.

The point is that it's a long season and you can't expect a top 10 performance every week.

Makes too much sense.

well we didn't get a top 10 performance last week, so.....with this being a HUGE divisional rivalry- this is what seperates the men from the boys

Not that it matters but it’s sort of ridiculous how the media is pretending the Cowboys "scored 50 in a huge blowout in their last meeting”. It was a friggin preseason game. Ha

Oh well. I don’t think this is a good matchup for Dallas at all. They are going to have to score more than 20 pts and I just don’t see it.

No. I didn't.

As far as being ok with 20 points because its a league average score- I dont believe we have a league average offense. I dont think, with our skill players, and our QB supposedly taking the next step, that league average is an acceptabl result.

Relative to the talent on this team, AND the opponent we played, playing to a league average score is a failure. Which is why, it looked ugly. Because it was ugly. This team with its talent, against a weaker opponent has to play very badly to end up with a league average score. And/or, the coaches have to coach very poorly. Those things happened.

We are 5-0. We should be talking about being super bowl contenders. Here you are celebrating league average.

Bills have the #1 offense, they only scored 19 points in week 3 and 23 points in week 4.

Chiefs are another top offense.  They only scored 17 points in week 3.

Scoring only 20 points in a game happens.  It's not the end of the world, certainly when the Eagles won and did so with all the injuries that occurred on the offensive line.

We definitely match up well with Dallas on paper but I cant remember the last time an Eagles QB performed well against them

Im loving the timing and circumstances of this game.

Would it be fair to say we'll learn more about 2022 Jalen Hurts Sun. night than we have in the first 5 games? I feel that way

NFCE early division lead on the line, prime time game against a rival who's gotten the better of us.  Their strengths will directly challenge our strengths.  They will almost surely test everything we doubt about Hurts, the coaches, and the legitimacy of our team

Jason Kelce looking like he's seen a few things.

I wonder a few things about Kelce and his injury:

  1. Did they have him checked out for a concussion solely because his helmet came off on one play.  I wonder if the fact he was combative about getting back in after the ankle had something to do with that check.

  2. After the break, not only did Kelce come back, but so did Dickerson.  Wonder if Dickerson was humbled by Kelce.  I note that yesterday Dickerson talked about being able to play this week which was a surprise after he returned to action on Sunday. I suspect that the example of Kelce, Mailata fighting to get back and Seumalo playing on his banged up ankle isn’t a motivator to soldier through injury.

  3. If the OL can make to through Sunday, they get a couple weeks to rehabilitate those injuries.

Good.  This game will come down to the line of scrimmage and turnovers.  The team that wins on those fronts will win the game.  If we are healthy, I think the Eagles win the line of scrimmage battle.  Turnover battle is where it will turn on.  Honestly, I don't think the Cowboys can score enough to keep up with our offensive unless we give them short fields and D td's

Did you?

Yes, he was scared shitless the entire time and dumped the ball off on a WR screen and didnt even let his O-line try to hold up to the blitz.

The best drive we had was when he only threw the ball once.

Had a bad Interception called back thankfully

And could only muster up 6 points in the last 40 minutes of the game.

I'm not some hot take idiot who's giving him an F, calling for his head. But his game sunday was extremely pedestrian, I said he looked hurt(his top speed didnt seem like him out of the pocket)

So I'd give him a C, C-

Do you understand screens aren't dumpoffs?  There isn't some down the field option, a screen play is designed to get the ball to the back/wr/TE with blockers in front of them.

You are precisely a hot take idiot.

Shame they couldn't find a picture of him throwing the ball as well.

Dallas relies on their run game.  How much Davis will play on this Sunday, and how well?  His snap count has gone higher.  As a rookie, he may still be fouled by the offense.  The vets on the DL have to help him out on assignments and reading offense formations.  Big game, the big boys have to play BIG.

If the two DEs playing to his right and left are Cox and Hargrave, I trust their experience enough that I would deploy the following approach ... have Davis do everything he can to use his power to drive the opposing O-lineman (linemen?) as far back as possible into the pocket.  Cox and Hargrave would be less aggressive and adjust/discipline their rush to both the offensive formation and the havoc that Davis creates.  Sweat and Reddick are not quite as senior as Cox and Hargrave, but they certainly are experienced enough to read the offensive formation themselves with the knowledge that the Cowboys will be looking to run first and pass second.

Note: looking back at the Gamebooks from the first four Dallas games this season, the run-run-run approach of the Week Five game was not in evidence.

well, somehow averaging 13 yards per play didnt result in a very good point total.

Arizona had more momentum and if they made that FG were more likely to win in OT. They had the better 2nd half.

When you only have three possessions in the Second Half and two of the three produce points and took 5:03, 4:15 and 7:58 off the clock, what is there to complain about.  Further, in the 2nd Quarter, without the Cardinal's successful fake punt, the Eagles would have had a bit less than 2 minutes to try to add to a 14-7 score.

Games are what they are though ... and a W is a W.

I'd hit him with the nastiest, most illegal crack back block the first play of the game. Take the 15 yards and let him know he's gonna get a couple more the rest of the game

How about the Eagles beat them without doing cheap illegal crap. Just dominate in every aspect of the game. Johnson and Mailata are capable of pan caking him without this kind of crap. What were your thoughts when Wentz got knocked out of the playoff game when Clowney cheap shotted him? That's football or that's some cheap BS?

Those would be considered putrid performances by those offenses.

Right and we won the game. It was a classic letdown scenario. West Coast, injuries, huge game the week upcoming, etc. This was an NFL week for the Eagles where you just look to get a W and stay relatively healthy. There are two or three of those each year for the top teams and the win rate is about 50% or so. Not pretty but the job was completed successfully.
