Really the only way it would have been an even deal for the Saints was if they advanced to the conference championship and the pick wound up in the late twenties. Even if the Saints had made the playoffs and lost immediately it would have been good for us. Their not making the playoffs at all made it pretty one sided. A top five pick would have been a home run, but that was always unrealistic.

Maybe not top 5, but if Atlanta didn't blow the lead in week 1 and we didn't have to trot out Minshew, it would have been 6-7 as things sit today. That for me was the dream.
