Center City is so dangerous WaWa is pulling out but people keep voting for it

Relax.  Krassner says that his policies are working.  You'd better recognize.

It's going to get worse, because the super left progressives are now running as 3rd party under the "Working Families Party" and are getting more votes than the Republicans, so the R At Large Council Seats are going away.

Pretty soon, Council is probably only going to have 1 or no Republicans on it.

The Republican Party in the City of Philadelphia is dead.... has been for years.

Hopefully there will be more Democratic mayors like this guy.

We'll take one of those center city Wawa's. 🤣

The problem of inner cities becoming unlivable hell-holes with brazen violent crime is uniquely due to one party and one party only, though. Yeah sure, Republicans suck, too, but democrats are the ones that implement soft on crime policies that result in widespread violence. They own this one.

No...... WE ALL own this one. And WE ALL own every single stupid thing that comes down on us when we treat elections and elected officials like a popularity contest.

If you vote for any candidate based solely on their political party or because it's so and so's relative....Then you are doing a great disservice to your friends and neighbors. Vote for a person because they have shown they can make a positive difference in the world around you.

But I'll tell you what ......the 1st candidate that steps up that has robocalls become illegal and become a heavily punished crime......... They could be freaking Dexter and I will vote for them.

They have 275+ stores and another 30-40 being built at any one time.

So 2% isnt a lot.

I will say I enjoy the fact that they're all being closed in the ghettos

They don’t have 275 in center city. The article shows they pulled stores out and opened new ones since the 90s. 3 decades of stores closing.

I'm leery about going into Philly. We have visitors from Sweden and they are all rightly concerned about going into the city to sight see. The past few times I drove into CC the gangs of roving ATVers made me want to open my car door and knock their dopey asses into the street so their friends could run them over.

I think we're trying to agree.

Wawa never closes stores throughout the country. The only close stores because of the crap hole city theyre in. and in that case, yes the close stores in said crap hole

Literally false. I know of at least 2 that have closed near me. They are trying to do away with a lot of the non- gas station WaWas.

So Republicans, who have no power in Philly and don't support the soft-on-crime policies that have lead to the explosion of criminality in the city, own this issue as much as the party who is in power and does support those policies. Got it.

It's easier for a simpleton to just pick a color and vote for it though.

  Kz's big mad that someone came out against partisanship.

I guess when they see what a federally dependent, meth riddled, depressing sheet show WVA/KY/Miss are, they realize that it can always get worse.

You're not even from here..... You have no clue what you're talking about

My guess is that cities overreacted to the George Floyd tragedy and brought in Mayors and DAs that are too soft. I think we will see a tough on crime dem as the next Philly mayor.

........and then ultra progressives start passing crap policies, "In the name of equity."  Shoplifting disproportionately hits people of color so...............we just won't charge anybody anymore.  What the F could go wrong with that?

4 miles from City Hall.

15 minute ride on the El.

They go into Center City to rob people or burglarize stores and then get on the El to go score dope.

Yeah Somerset Station is right there off Lehigh Ave.  Maybe 20 minutes into Center City, max?

Yeah, it's sad. I'm glad I was able to enjoy the city when I lived there.

it's disgusting to see what's going on. you're right, the dems that ran the city before wouldn't have allowed this crap, at least to this level.

and when it comes to drug addict crime, we unfortunately get northeast philly's, lower buck's and trenton's sheetshow.

Still thinking with a narrow single view...... it doesnt matter what the party affiliation of the people in the top spots are....... it matters what the people in the top spots of the city DO.

Assign the blame to the PEOPLE making the bad decisions.... not their party. Dont do it with a broad stroke...... do it with a focus directly on the person or people.

If you voted for these people or championed them........ Then take responsibility for your own actions. If you did not want these people in office and voted against them... then still be a part of your community and take the responsibility that you didn't work hard enough to get the correct people in office.

Placing blame at someone else's doorstep is the easy way out.

Sadly one of the problems lies in the fact that many folks that could make a solid difference do not want to be involved in politics for many reasons..... mostly due to the amount of abuse they would take from the ill informed.

While rare...... there are good people in all political parties. Its up to us to find them and put them in position to succeed. If they fail...... out they go....... and we try again.

Personally...... you want to rob and beat a convienience store clerk for $100.00 that doesnt even belong to them ? Then I want you in prison..... and working your ass off in some fashion to make things right. And you're not going to be treated like a hotel guest while in prison..... you are going to be so unhappy while there that you will care deeply about never going back there again.

haha, when the logic he's using is as insanely stupid as it is, it's tough not to literally shake with rage while reading it.

For a comparison no one would call Pats and Genos center city. They are under 2 miles from city hall.

The majority of Dems having a problem with woke politicians kind of blows up the right’s narrative that the Dems are all woke.
