I grew up going there to visit family and it was one of the cleanest, most beautiful cities I'd ever seen. Today, when I go back it is literally disgusting. Homeless people everywhere, trash all over the place, petty crime everywhere, broken drug needles on the streets. A few years ago I was one of a group of multinational executives on a training program out there. We got a tour of the city one day. While we were there we saw a homeless guy take a dump in the middle of Mission Dolores park and later, another one kicked a woman getting off a bus and knocked her down the bus stairs right in front of us. Nobody did or said anything to the guy. What was most interesting to me was the reaction of the Europeans and Asians in the program with me. They were shocked. One of them said to me "this is San Francisco? It's so dirty and dangerous, why would anyone live here?". Progressives who think they are building some social utopia and referencing Europe as their model have obviously never been to Europe.

Literally, it is hole into which hordes of homeless people sh**. And as for real estate prices, they’re one of the worst performing in percentage terms because everyone is leaving the sh**hole. That’s just residential. Commercial is even worse.
