It is the point when stopping the run is not a top priority. Stopping the run is more than adding 1 talented college kid. It's scheme, disguised blitz packages, an aggressive approach that signals aggression to the players. It's a top shelf MLB who can stop the run and cover. Gannon seems to prioritize not giving up a big play over attacking up front, which is essentially playing off coverage and that's a recipe for failure as we are seeing tonight. This soft approach is failing tonight. I hope for 2nd half adjustments that last the rest of the way.
