GDT: Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles, 11-14-22, 8:15 PM EST

Well.  It’s not over but I’m prepped for the worst.  I’m going to combat these feelings with:

I don’t want to go into the playoffs undefeated, anyway.

edit: as long as we don’t do what Pitt did a couple of years ago.

The defense was horrible, the first half was flat out embarrassing, allowing Washington to march up and down the field and keep the offense sat down. Still and all the reffing in the second half

  • Tonight would’ve been my mom’s 64th birthday. The games haven’t been the same without her, but I keep her Westbrook jersey over my shoulder all season long. Happy birthday, Mom! Go Birds!

  • Run the ball and Blitz. We don't do nearly enough of either

We won’t win anything with this D

We’d be down big without that strip sack. Now we’re going to see how Hurts handles this hurdle. I know he can’t do it alone, but I’m curious to see how he does his part with this degree of adversity.

I get that it's hard to go undefeated but you have to beat crap teams no matter what. It's like they think they should win just for showing up.

This is a divisional opponent. The Commanders are playing keep away right now. Blow outs against divisional opponents aren’t common.

Should we just do all inside kicks?

So Fin livid with Gannon right now…

These last two three games have exposed this teams lack of run defense and soft tackling. It was only a matter of time .  Third downs are killing them!!! Smh

Are they down by 6 or by 60?

What a bunch of losers booing an 8-0 team down 6 and getting the ball first in the 2nd half.

Yeah, they should cheer for this **** showing so far.

Down by 6, but I still am not the least bit concerned.

I hate him so much. Who wants to make t shirts with #firegannon on them?

I want Irsay to give him a HC job

This grand 8-0 team being taken to school by something called a Heinicke

He’s efficient and the Birds can’t tackle. When you have a balanced attack against a befuddled D coordinator and players with poor technique you can make any 3rd stringer look like Montana.

not too much to be excited about, we're getting outplayed by the worst professional sports franchise and terrible NFL team

There's only been 2 teams in the last 50 years to go undefeated in the regular season. This is a division game.

There's still a half left, but if they lose this game. It's not the end of the season.

Some people act like this team is 0-8..

Is this the result you expect?

Its football. You don't get to win every half of all 17 games.

If they lose the game then feel free to walk away.

Gannon is outmatched so far. Hurts did a Favre on a bad gunslinger deep ball.

Its not the end.

He'll chuck it deep for another INT

Are you even watching the game? We’re not winning this

Despite the trash they are serving up? Man I don't know how you do it bud. I can't stay that confidence when watching such garbage.

It is the point when stopping the run is not a top priority. Stopping the run is more than adding 1 talented college kid. It's scheme, disguised blitz packages, an aggressive approach that signals aggression to the players. It's a top shelf MLB who can stop the run and cover. Gannon seems to prioritize not giving up a big play over attacking up front, which is essentially playing off coverage and that's a recipe for failure as we are seeing tonight. This soft approach is failing tonight. I hope for 3nd half adjustments that last the rest of the way.

Exactly this. Gannon’s been getting bailed out because we have superior talent this year. His schemes are weak.

Meanwhile our MVP candidate QB gets cold waiting 45 minutes to get on the field.

I did not say you had to cheer. Only losers boo an 8-0 team at halftime of a close game.

It ain’t all on this crappy D, they need to run the ball and quit passing so much

I think he’s rattled and will try to do this on his own that and because the coaching has abandoned the run once again for the first half of the game.

I'm sure he will but it won't make a jot of difference. You can call out someone but if they are not good they are not good. And he's not good.

Agreed, I’m just hoping it lights something in the D players and they can get a couple turnovers, despite Gannon’s play calling.

1. That first half could be the punch in the mouth the Eagles need to come back out on fire.

2. They could lose this game and it could be the punch in the mouth they need to catch fire the rest of the season.

3. They get punched in the mouth, don’t recover and go on to have a mediocre season because their defense has been exposed and the can’t beat good teams.

what will it be?

I can live with 1 or 2. That last choice...no thank you.

Can’t get off on 3rd down. 9-12

We sure are making it easy for them to play keep away.
