It’s not that great of an accomplishment tbh. The 2001-2006 Phillies did it multiple times but they had a good young nucleus and it felt like were building towards something big. vsptroops Posted May 20, 2021 Share Posted May 20, 2021 So just to confirm what I've been seeing, I looked up the Phillies stats with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Yeah, not pretty. They rank 28th with a batting average of .132 with a .371/.261/.632 slash line. How much better would their record be if they were say 15th or even 17th? Their top 3 starters have been very good, and while the bullpen still has the occasional hiccup, they are still better than last year.
