I’m not sure there’s a guy in Philadelphia sports over the last decade I hate more than Jake Arrieta. I’m sure there probably is and I can’t think of it right now but he’s damn near the top

Of course he Fing sucks. It was a dumb signing when they signed him as everyone in the world didn’t want him because they knew he was overpriced and at the end of his career. The analytics showed that he was declining and yet klentak still thought it was smart. It was a waste of money. You could’ve use the $25 million to get a lesser price pitcher that gives you same about a crap he does Can use the rest of the money to fix your bullpen

Arrieta is such a p.o.s.. There are many reasons to fire Klentak but that signing should be right at the top. If I was Girardi, I would tell ole Matty boy that I'm not pitching that loser anymore and that he can just stay home and collect his check.

And it wasn’t like it wasnt obvious when they signed him he was on the decline. The Cubs didn’t want to bring him back and he was asking for an astronomical amount even at 25 million. Nobody wanted his a** and get contacts like oh yeah I’m gonna pay him 75 million for three years. Even the analytics said severely declining.

No.  This is exactly why he’s not a long term solution as a 1b.  Is he as bad as the .230 powerless hitter we had been seeing?  No.  
 

But a 1b needs to hit for average better than he does and should not be as excruciatingly hot and cold as he can be. 2 weeks from now he’ll again be as clueless as Simmons at the 3 point arc.  Better hitters even that out and we need better at a hitting position like 1b.

Idk he’s batting over 300 and has 4 homers in his last 10 games. If he hits like that he’s fine. He won’t tho so I’m not apologizing yet. 

Minter is unhittable for us this year.

That’s his game.  Hit like prime Pujols for a couple weeks and then hit like a pitcher for a month.

I feel like since last year in May he didn’t do Pujols. He’s had been garbage from June 2019 to midway through this month.
