Good move, be nice if they had an outfield , catcher, etc

Never mind this guy had been average at best up until this year

* sigh * every day this off-season I just go WTF ??? it will just be another year of one of the last teams to go down the drain.

They could trade Casty if they want.... they are being stupid in what they want / can get for him.

They could trade for Marte at 2nd ..... send Stott out.... or see what Bichette will cost.

Get Duran from Boston like yesterday.

They missed the boat on Ford

Trade that emotional wreck of a third basement already.

AND FOR GOD'S SAKE...... SIGN THAT JAPANESE MANIAC THAT WANTS TO BEAT THE DODGERS ....... THE MOMENT HE SAID IT ....AN OFFER SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT TO HIS AGENT !!!!!

Unless Crawford turns out to be a plus outfielder this season, which is unlikely given his age and never playing a MLB inning (which was stupid of the Phillies last season), the OF is going to be a disaster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rojas is in the roster as this point given the lack of depth.

LF: Marsh/Kemp

CF: Crawford/Rojas

RF: Garcia/Rojas

That’s a bottom 5-10 outfield.

After last year's OF disaster, I don't trust Dombrowski's ability to construct the OF.

We have found his blind spot. Dombrowski is weak on judging OF talent.

Bader earned his money last year. Sign him.

Crawford is totally unproven while Bader showed that he can hit leadoff.

Dombrowski is a fool. He is screwing up the team.

Any 12 year old could understand that resigning Bader is a good idea.

And, don't tell me about money. Dodgers are deferring money. Phillies should do that too.

If the Phillies can't figure that out, then they are failing to compete.

We're probably going to trade Strahm or Banks

Don’t disagree. Were rumors with strahm earlier in the offseason. Tha said really should keep both as alavardo is a major question mark. He was bad in 2024 after they went to London. Got suspended last year but he was good to start then once again bad when he came back and got hurt.

Guess my dream of Bo Bichette coming here is shot to hell. That's ok though. We get to have another season with Bohm batting cleanup and watching the awesome duo of Weston Wilson and Otto Kemp. What a joke.

That had zero chance of happening

whatever this is worth SportsGrid's Paul Connor predicted the Blue Jays would whiff on Tucker and land Bichette on a new deal this offseason

Probably the closest you’re getting

Season is already dead

I knew it was a long shot but it's only a long shot because Middleton is stuck paying Nola, Walker, and Castellanos a whopping 63 million this year. Hell, I would have been fine not bringing back Schwarber and gotten Bichette instead.

The entire foundation of the team is at the point in their career where they are in a reliable, linear decline.

Harper, Wheeler, Realmuto (they will re-sign him), Schwarber (especially Schwarber), and Turner are the foundation of this team and are at the age where year-over-year decline is the expectation. Every one of them will likely be diminished from last season. No single big ticket addition could offset the decline they will get from this foundation from 2025 to 2026.

Ranger will leave and Painter likely represents a downgrade in the rotation (just reference what he did in AAA last year).

Bohm, Stott, and Marsh are firmly in the "they are what they are camp.”

This will be a significantly regressed team next season. It was unavoidable. 2026 was always going to be the year that time destroyed the roster. I know some of you said this could be avoided if they added a big bat…well, that’s not happening. I’d be genuinely shocked if they make the playoffs.

Hopefully they are able to retain J.T. at a discount to maintain salary flexibility next year once Casty, Walker, Alvarado, Bohm, Garcia, etc. are off the books. That’s around $70 million coming off the books next season, which of course will likely be eaten into by a Luzardo extension, which I hope they can get done this offseason.

Strahm traded to KC for a rightie reliever in return. Interesting. Just Banks and Alvarado as the only lefties.

Why does it feel like at the deadline we will need a LH reliever

If you want some positivity on the salary dump

Seems like an ok move I guess. This kind of stuff is hard to get excited for

Tbh it’s a salary dump to clear about $7 mil. Also probably rubbed Dombrowski the wrong way when strahm took shots at the organization and their practice tactics and Dombrowski took a shot back at the end of the season presser
