May 1May 1 You guys may be more abreast of this stuff than I am, but I had an interesting conversation with a baseball guy about bullpen games. How the Rays really popularized and pioneered the intentional bullpen games with their opener in 2018….how it does tax a bullpen and make their availability complicated, especially in a league where starters are going shallower and shallower into their starts year over year. And how some times use constant rolling options and AAA as a regular season strategy to functionally build a massive bullpen to circumvent the need for more innings out of the pen.

May 1May 1 Miami playing good ball. Just took 2 out of 3 against the Dodgers in LA. Sweeps are nice but the Phillies just need to start winning series then see where they are around Memorial Day. Good news is they are up 2 games on the Mets.

I know a little bit about their roster because many of them played in Wilmington for the Blue Rocks coming up through the minors (most people wish we still had the Royals as our affiliate). They will be good in a year or two, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got hot in August and made a run for a wild card spot.
