I didn’t get their strategy about going with Suarez over hader. Bryce harper has been the best player in the playoffs. If I have to pitch to him with guys on base or bases empty, I want my best pitcher in my bullpen going against him who is also a lefty. The Padres made no sense in the series with Hader. because they never used Josh Hader outside of game 1 trying to preserve him for the right game/time and it never came. I thought they should’ve bunted in the 7th inning after Josh Bell got the double to tie it. There were no outs and if you bunt the runner over to third who knows if Dominguez or Realmuto field it properly in the conditions. even if they get the our, if there was a wild pitch runner would’ve scored and potentially if Realmuto or Dominguez dont field it properly then the guy safe at first would’ve gotten to second on a wild pitch and that’s another run in scoring position. When they bunted in the ninth, it made the less sense to me at that time since they already had one out and it was a ton of pressure on Suarez who hasn’t come out of the pen since July last year.
