June 8, 20215 yr Scott Kingery outrighted to Lehigh Valley. What an unfortunate case he turned into. Klentak’s entire tenure was really just one big diarrhea stain.

Although I haven't paid attention to his minor league journey to know if he is progressing or not. Other than that, not much. Their farm system is as baren as those mid 80's to late 90's teams. The Mcphail/ Klentak duo sure did a bang up job.

Did that a-hole owner just recently tout their draft record over the past several years as actually being good?

I would expect him to rise to AA before the end of the year.

Although as clueless as Middleton is about how to run a franchise, it wouldn't surprise me if he said something that stupid.

That's good to hear. Since he was drafted as a SS, it would be nice if he took Didi's spot sometime next year.
June 9, 20215 yr An article from last year, but it really puts into perspective how bad their drafting and player development has been over the past 15 years. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.phillyvoice.com/phillies-draft-pick-history-front-office-gm-analysis-trades-free-agents-first-round-picks-playoff-draught/amp/
June 9, 20215 yr I don't know why I continue to torture myself watching this less than mediocre team. Time to scour Netflix more and rewatch something, anything...

They really wasted an entire decade from the end of the phillies playoff runs until now with poor drafts and development when they had been awful and high draft picks. Nola, hoskins, Herrera, neris and bohm are the only ones contributing every night. That’s an awful. Even the trades they’ve made besides realmuto have not been great or downright bad. The Hamels trade is a complete joke in how it turned out.

Your point is obviously correct, of course. Their waste of resources over the past decade has been brutal.

What makes it so much worse is looking at the white Sox and Padres who were as bad as the Phillies through much of the last decade and the Phillies are painfully a mediocre team and those teams are young looking like they are going to be contenders for much of the next decade
