It answered the few questions I saw about Hurts coming into the game:

1. Can Hurts show up in a big game

2. Is he good enough if the game turns into a shootout

3. Can he bounce back from mistakes

He answered all those questions pretty resoundingly. It's just unfortunate that the defense got absolutely worked in the second half. Going into the half scoring 10 straight, up 10 and aggravating Mahomes injury should've been enough to keep them at bay with how our offense was performing.

Mahomes wasn't all that hurt... I don't buy that at all. He was Jim Browning for the ole heads. No way in hell you're running like that on a high ankle sprain I don't care how much pain meds and adrenaline you're pumped up with. He played us lol. He did the same thing in the Championship game. Wasn't limping when he was running, wasn't limping when he was celebrating on the sidelines. Give that man an Oscar.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

I guess that fumble wasn’t detrimental?

What was detrimental was Reid making adjustments and scoring 24 points on the defense that had absolutely no answers. Reid put on a coaching clinic in the 2nd half with lesser talent at Mahomes disposal.

No, brkmsn argued all week that only one sack we took all year would be considered detrimental because it made us lose to wash. Because we were in the Super Bowl, clearly the sacks we took didn’t cause us to lose game so they weren’t detrimental.

Quez Watkins needs to go. He simply cannot catch the ball without leaving his feet.

Why the hell is he jumping around all the time for no reason? Call him Pop Tart

Hurts carried the team on his back yesterday. Feel for him. He gave it everything he had. He had no support from the run game for whatever reason which was extremely atypical (no one can tell me KC was better than every defense we faced this year stopping the run). I can only think the field had something to do with that. He broke records, made history, and his defense couldn't get 1 stop in the 2nd half. He literally had to be perfect to win this game given the support he had from the ground game and defense. Just an unfortunate outcome. Even had he been perfect without the turnover this defense couldn't stop KC. Instead of a FG they would have easily scored 6 at the end of the game if they chose. Their only mishap was a missed FG. He'll come back even better next year. Question will be will his DC still put up duds when it counts the most.

Faked it. Just added to the narrative that the NFL wanted.

I'm not saying he didn't maybe get it tweaked a few weeks back... but it wasn't a severe grade high sprain like they were saying it was. No way in hell

Nope. He looked just fine out there. It just adds to the story. "He was hurt and he out the team in his back. No receivers, on one leg, blah blah blah”.

Because he’s unsure of his hands

Neat.

It was still a terrible, momentum shifting play that gave them 7 points in a game that we lost by 3.

It's okay to admit that he made a mistake. He'll still get paid and be here, don't worry.

You need to look up the word momentum. The next 10 points were for the Eagles.

Momentum is a line, the fumble was a point.

Try something like overall impact to the final score or saved the Chiefs from a blowout at the half?

Hurts played well, but the thing I haven't heard many talk about is the Eagles didn't make the Pats punt once the second half either. The difference was Foles didn't have to either that I can remember in the second half. Hurts threw short to Gainwell on the FG and went 1,2,3, punt on the big return. We can't expect him to be perfect but the defense that won wasn't much better than yesterday either. Again, Hurts isn't going to be perfect and did a darn good job and he might have won it if the refs didn't take that chance away, but that was the difference along with the fumble compared to the Foles win.

The D was atrocious in the second half.

But, Hurts and the offense were mostly ineffective in the second half.

Let’s hope he wasn’t a one year wonder 🤞

Unlike our other one year wonder this guy doesn’t have a fragile ego and thinks he’s done something when he hasn’t. He wants more.

Pats in the SB vs eagles

2 turnovers on downs

1 turnover

chiefs in the SB vs eagles

no turnovers

no turnovers on downs.

cut the crap.

The "other” one year wonder has a Super Bowl ring

Yknow what’s funny (sad funny)

hurts actually had the type of game passing that you frauds have been having wet dreams about. Statistically, he was the better qb and the other qb was Mahomes.

but as people have been telling you frauds constantly, the stats don’t mean jack. You can outperform the other qb and still lose. So what does your pretty little "he has to throw for 300 yards and 3tds” mean? Nothing.

all you frauds running your mouth with your "oh! But he can’t just throw for under 200 yards and expect the team to win! If he struggles we’ll be in trouble!”

well look at that. Mahomes didn’t throw for 200 yards. And they won the superbowl. Hurts didn’t throw for over 200 yards and they won both their playoff games. pretty funny huh? 😭

@The Holy Vagabond Hurts played much better than his stats. The Quez deep ball drop was perfect. The Smith catch that the refs stole was perfect.

I have no idea how 3 steps and a knee requires ball security to the ground and no idea how having 2 hands on the ball and only 1 hand comes off is not a catch.

That was not a Dez going to the ground in the act of catching play. It was a toe tapping forced the follow up going to the ground action.

Catches are basically when refs feel like calling them catches. Either way, another great throw.

So his 306 yards passing and 106 rating could have been like 350 and 110.

Obviously Hurts is the reason we lost though. 🙄🤫🤷‍♂️😂🤣🤡🤡

We gave them 6 points. They lost 3. Difference 3 points. Grrrrrrr. Played them pretty evenly. Came down to who had the ball last with time. Wasn't us. If only our defense could get a 2nd half stop...... just 1 is asking a lot I guess. Ok.... I think I got it all out now. On to the draft again :)

Hurts was the better qb last night. The chiefs guys were wide open all night and they even had a decent running attack with their rbs. The eagles rbs did next to nothing running the ball and it was on hurts to generate a running game ALONG WITH his passing.

And his passing was damn near perfect all night. There were maybe 2 passes that I thought were bad/questionable decisions. But even on those passes, they hit the receivers right in the hands.

the 2 sideline passes to Goedert were dimes. The scramble left to hit pascal for the 1st down was spectacular. The pass to smith that was ruled incomplete (which was BS, he pinned the ball to his helmet and never lost control. The ball is allowed to move, you stupid Fing refs!) was a dime.

Yeah he fumbled. I get it. But if we wanna throw blame at why the eagles didn’t win the SB, hurts play is way down the list. In fact, I blame the crappy field more than I blame hurts. That’s not to say the fumble was blameless. But it’s not even a top 3 reason why the eagles didn’t win.

With Shane leaving soon, one thing the Eagles need to remove from their base set of plays is the QB designed runs.

1) As @eagle45 indicated, Hurts has reached a point as a pocket passer that we don’t need to feature his running ability as much and certainly not in the regular season.

2) He gets hurt too often for a team that is about to pay him north of $50m per year. We can’t put a team as talented around him anymore so we need him on the field for every snap.

3) We got very lucky that his shoulder injury wasn’t more serious and the giants suck. We could easily have been playing on wildcard weekend which is an unacceptable possibility for how well our regular season had been going.

4) Our passing concepts need to evolve - they were better than last year’s but still remedial for today’s NFL. Sure they’re effective when a team is scared to death of Jalen’s legs but, with improved passing concepts and a great OL, we can still maintain status as a premier offense in the league.

5) And finally, we need to reduce our QB sneak game. It clearly works but, again, our offense needs to evolve such that we aren’t relying on our QB punching his head into the teeth of a defense every drive to gain a yard.

Last year, it was crucial that Jalen evolve his game and he apparently did. If we are about to pay Jalen $50+m a year, it’s crucial for Nick S and team to evolve the passing game so that he can actually play for 8-10 years. Otherwise, I’m convinced Jalen is done within 4-5 years at this rate.

Hurts: 27/38, 304 pass yards, 1 pass TD, 2 sacks, passer rating 103.4, 15 carries for 70 rush yards, 3 rush TDs, 1 fumble lost

Mahomes: 21/27, 182 pass yards, 3 pass TD, 0 sacks, passer rating 131.8, 6 carries for 44 rush yards, 0 rush TDs, 0 fumble lost

Hurts wasn’t the reason we lost.

But Mahomes did have 3 passing TDs to Hurts 1. Not that it means anything, much like your rambling post

Kelce's press conference comments on Hurts:

  • said that the QB is one of the biggest factors in whether or not you're going to get to the Super Bowl
  • there's a reason you see some of the same faces go back to the Super Bowl at the QB position; late in games, they become that much more important
  • Hurts has proven that he is in that class of player that is going to give your organization an opportunity to compete for Super Bowls year after year
