I thought it was a great episode. My minor nitpick would be how the bloater was taken out pretty easily with just a flame thrower when last season the dude unloaded a full clip into one that didn’t even stop it from charging. Kaitlyn Dever is really good as Abby. It’s not a great game adaptation but her acting is good and it also helps she’s on the smaller side considering Ellie is built like a 12 year old.

I think the show has really made a point of making Abby look like a major villain and making sure that the audience is going to be rooting hard for Ellie to take vengeance on her and whole crew. Not sure how it was in the game cause I didn't play it. Personally, I didn't have an issue with what Joel did in the first season to save Ellie - they didn't really give either of them a choice so he did what he felt was right to save her.

The game made her an anti-hero that you are supposed to feel bad for and then eventually root for. I was always curious if the show would follow the same path or change it drastically but I'm guessing it will follow the same path considering what's to come. One major difference already is in the game you aren't really sure why shes after Joel right away where as the show made it clear in the first scene of Season 2.

I’m not familiar with the game story but dang-very good show!

I actually dropped the controller when you play Abby and attack Ellie. I let Ellie kill her many times. I was worried we were going to kill Ellie and I said nope

…but the Joel character was the only likable person…so I might bail on this one.

The 2nd episode of season 2 was obviously better than the 1st. Couldn't have been any worse. It got increasingly tough to take the great big infected that Tommy fought with the flamethrower seriously though. The monster suit kept reminding me of the demon Henrietta suit from Evil Dead 2.

Yeah I haven't disliked it really - I don't think that Bella Ramsey has been a superb choice but it hasn't taken too much away from the show for me. I know that a lot of the hardcore gamer nerds HATE her in the role, though

I think the show has been making good minor changes from the show.

They already changed Dina having a closer relationship with Joel and being there at his death to help justify her running off with Ellie.

I like that they had a mini character arch with Seth. The game barely touched this besides him calling them Dykes and then being forced to make sandwiches the next day as an apology. Him standing up for them during the meeting and helping them for Seattle gives him some character besides "hates gay people”.

I’m kinda surprised how early they introduced Seraphites (the whistling people) and how sympathetic the tv show initially is making them out to be considering they are one of the more evil groups in the game.

There's only 3 episodes left. I think they are waiting for the next season to show Abby's perspective

Just my guess but I think they want to put some distance between

Joel's death and making Abby a sympathetic character. The average viewer would reject her if they made her a main character right away. If they wait a year or two between seasons, it softens the blow.
