October 17, 20241 yr I'm giving @vikas83 his flowers. This article from the guy who marketed the apprentice confirms everything Vikas said about Trump's manufactured image. https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2024-10-16/we-created-a-tv-illusion-for-the-apprentice-but-the-real-trump-threatens-america Quote To sell the show, we created the narrative that Trump was a super-successful businessman who lived like royalty. That was the conceit of the show. At the very least, it was a substantial exaggeration; at worst, it created a false narrative by making him seem more successful than he was. In fact, Trump declared business bankruptcy four times before the show went into production, and at least twice more during his 14 seasons hosting. The imposing board room where he famously fired contestants was a set, because his real boardroom was too old and shabby for TV. Trump may have been the perfect choice to be the boss of this show, because more successful CEOs were too busy to get involved in reality TV and didn’t want to hire random game show winners onto their executive teams. Trump had no such concerns. He had plenty of time for filming, he loved the attention and it painted a positive picture of him that wasn’t true.

It's full of exaggeration and a fake image perfect for his narcissistic personality disorder.
October 17, 20241 yr Crazy that essentially no one who has ever worked for him/with him supports him anymore. It's almost as if that's a sign.

His voters don't believe it or they just don't care. We see it play out in here all the time. It really is that simple. At the end of the day, anyone who's still voting for Donal Trump at this point either lacks the ability to decipher information, or they can decipher information just fine and they just lack honor and integrity.
October 17, 20241 yr I believe most are just republicans that will NEVER EVER vote for a democrat. I mean ever. So evident to me now seeing how they can just disregard all that he has done and still vote for him. I saw my 87 year old aunt last weekend and was mildly shocked she's a Trumper. Scared to death what would happen if "she" got in. Allways afraid they will take something away from you. What's bigger than getting your country taken away from you from a wanna be dictator? God help us if he someone pulls out a win. I will be flying my flag up side down should that happen. I just don't get it.

October 17, 20241 yr This is an interesting read. Seems there is one large bettor on Polymarket that has driven up the odds for Trump. Since Polymarket is (i) owned (partially) by Peter Thiel, who is JD Vance's great benefactor and (ii) mainly transacts in crypto, it seems like a very poor gauge of reality. The conspiracy theory would be this is happening to set the stage for a "stop the steal" move if Trump loses. The other thought is simpler -- Crypto bros want Trump to win, and they piled in after Musk highlighted it. https://www.newsweek.com/who-polymarket-mystery-trader-fredi9999-1969646

Nothing THAT significant has happened to support such a pro-Trump swing. The only explanation is that the Kamala enthusiasm was overstated from the start (which is also plausible).

And they are willing to pay to get them.

October 17, 20241 yr Trump is trying to pay off Stormy Daniels, again. Will he try to use campaign money, again? Probably.

And when I say brother, I don't mean, like, an actual brother, but I mean it like the way black people use it. Which is more meaningful I think. If there is anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us, it's that a male model's life is a precious, precious commodity. Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident. Underrated movie

My sister, and others, are just as blind, and would vote for Dahmer, if he was running against a GOP candidate. Some people just jump on a bandwagon, and stay there, incapable of going against the flow. I don't get it. There are nuances. There are good and bad people on both sides, almost always.

I could believe the latter case where a bunch of cryptobros all started rowing in the same direction after Musk turned up the rhetoric.
October 17, 20241 yr cheeto is cancelling a bunch of events. i wonder if he's having health problems.
