I don’t personally see it as a barrier either, but I understand how it could be for enough people, especially some religions. I don’t see it as the end of democracy if it is required, but I see it as unnecessary.

I fully expect harris to swing back in this week's polls because she won last week's cycle.  As crazy as it sounds, I'm convinced that Trump won two straight weeks post VEEp debate with his "cats and dogs" tour.  Then Harris won last week with the Fox interview.  Whoever stacks news cycle wins from here to Nov 5, no matter how they do it, will win.

Taking 2 seconds to look at an ID is a low cost way to prevent fraud.

The poll worker that hands out the ballot is supposed to verify signatures. Of course signatures can be forged, but I’m gonna assume CJM #7 can barely sign his own name, let alone forge someone else’s. (Mine is AFU, I have a hard time duplicating it myself.) But even if he does take the time to practice good enough to get it by the initial poll worker, both parties go over the sig sheets with a fine tooth comb, just like they do the voter rolls, and other election paper work.

I seriously wish that people who do not trust the process, go volunteer to work the polls. It requires getting pre approved, you can’t just barge in on Election Day. TBF, I have not worked the polls before, but when I was deeply involved in the LP, I saw how much scrutiny each party puts into any document involved in the election. I believe more legit votes, registrations, petition signatures, get thrown out than there are invalid ones left on the books.

They don't want to actually do the work. They want to complain. You put in ID scanners and they will complain that the IDs are fake and the dems managed to put them in the system so that they show up as valid.
