It's myopic to assert this election is solely an issue of Trump when you have a Republican-controlled Congress who can't even elect a House Speaker without 15 ballots, can't keep that Speaker in the job, can't find an alternative to that Speaker without trotting out 3-4 lame duck choices who don't have the votes, can't get bills passed even with a majority, and can't be bothered to expel George Santos even though he was fraudulently elected. They are inept and cannot govern. The same party also nominated and confirmed Supreme Court justices who lied under oath about reversing abortion rights the majority of Americans want, refuse to hold any hearings or investigations into two of these justices who are overtly and deeply involved in ethics violations, and continue to make binding legal rulings without legal precedent or impartiality. Trump will be dead and gone soon. The Republican Party, though, has much deeper dysfunction and delusion to deal with after that inevitability. They don't even resemble a party anymore with a mandate to help people -- which is what a politician is supposed to do. The platform they're seeking to get elected on consists of kicking non-white people out of the country and giving all the money to the richest 1%. I'm unaware of any Republican policy that doesn't work toward one of those two goals.
