May 31, 20241 yr So polls show that if he was a convicted felon, 10% of his voters would reconsider there vote. Karl Rove was on Fox making this very point and said that spells trouble for the convicted felon.

Usually that's just them trying to sound like they're not in a cult. MAGA media will toss out a nice crudité platter of conspiracy theories and mysterious deep state agents, his voters will pick their favorites, and rinse their brain of the conviction. He's been a moron and crook his entire life. Can't expect his voters to suddenly "trust the experts" now that there's legal, public records documentation of his crimes.

Yeah, it won’t move any voters.

For Trump to be leading in general vote polls, he has to be winning what's left of the swing vote.

I don't think they are Maga voters. Maga are cult members who's minds will never change. I think the poll is of moderate republicans and Independents. Trump is not expanding his base to get their vote or the Haley voters. It's shrinking that's what Rove was talking about.

First, Trump has passionate support. There's no discussion of policy. Just him. With Biden it's "Oh gosh, I don't like this Israel stuff." And other issues where people are hemming and hawing about their personal wants. As November approaches, it's "Do you really want a bunch of Christo-fascists led by a reality TV star taking over the government, rewriting the constitution, and invading your personal life?" And second, not to be all Deep State-y, but I almost think it benefits the Dems to have some scare in the polling. Can't have 2016 all over again where people kicked their feet up, stay home, and assumed good ole American sanity would prevail. It doesn't mean Biden will win. But I'm not sweating the polls in May.

You're both right. The polls are complete bullsheet but in the end they're a good thing. A scared Dem is a Dem that turns out to vote.

Of course they will try to steal the election again in November like they did in 2020. Stalinist show trial prosecutions and election fraud - that's the way the Dems operate!

They're not in anyway accurate. Especially the outdated Fox News polls that @Procus rage posted to try to make himself feel better.
May 31, 20241 yr The polls will swing in 2-3 weeks, just like they did after the SOTU. But I agree that it's still too early to draw any meaningful conclusions from them. When 50% of women and 30% of the Black respondents say they're voting for Trump, you know the results are laughable.
May 31, 20241 yr Back in 2016 when the AG announced he was re-opening Hillary's email investigation, that was the nail in the coffin for me. At the time I thought well why would they do this unless they found out something else? This was what, 2 weeks before the election? So, one of the first times I'd ever seen my state turn Red. Then, they called me dumb and uneducated. Turns out they were right. I have since "smartened up" I too think it's too early to look at polls.

I do believe that Trump is winning handily at this juncture and that most of the vote is already baked in. He's winning with minority men, many of whom got no problem with christo-fascism. Sure there's a clear path for Biden to win with a rust belt sweep, but as of now he is absolutely the underdog.

Especially when we take a deep breath and see the recent history of: 2016: Trump wins the general 2018: Trump loses midterm 2020: Trump loses general 2022: Trump-owned GOP loses midterm (And various state elections where abortion was on the ballot) So, again, after 2016 I don't get cocky. But I kinda get the impression that a lot of voters REALLY don't want this guy in office.

In Swing States, the Primary vote, Nikki Haley got about 30% of the republican vote. If say 10% of those voters, vote for Biden, in a race where 1-2% of the vote can be the difference, Trump is in a lot of trouble. I believe the Primary vote is more accurate then any Poll. Given that he is not expanding his base beyond the cult, is also a huge problem for him. Biden has been out fundraising him as well. Biden has the money to spend on the campaign while the convicted felon has to spend his money on lawyers.

Minority men are gravitating towards his brand, Christians have fully taken him in as Lord and Savior who can bring Christian Nationalism and Zennials are proving to be a disturbingly right wing generation. The expanding amount of world leaders and political front runners with Trumpian platforms while the 20th century statesmen become a dying breed tells you which way this is going.
