I haven't followed his saga, but I have heard one accusation about sex with a 17 year old? Of course, accusations need to be proven. So until they are, I won't call him any names. If he opts to take his seat in 2025, the ethics report will end up being released (I would assume).

But one technical point, if the accusation that I heard is accurate and the only accusation, calling him a 'pedophile' wouldn't be accurate. In this situation, it would be more appropriate to call him an ephebophile. Or is he also accused of going after very young children too?

I remember all the times you called Trump a convicted felon based on that same logic.

Well, I'm not a legal expert but my understanding is that a person who is convicted of a crime (a felony in this case), isn't actually technically a 'convicted felon' until the entire process is completed. This process hasn't been completed yet. Once he's sentenced, then he's a 'convicted felon'. 

Now, I could be incorrect on that, but regardless of the technicality of it, I haven't commented on it at all and have tried to steer clear of all of that whether it's Gaetz, Trump, Clinton or Biden. 

If I were to call someone a name based on whatever crime they committed though, I would try to make it the correct name for the crime. If he's guilty, throw the book and any names needed, at him. I wouldn't call him a refrigerator repair specialist if he's accused of sex with a 17 year old, though, I'd call him the appropriate name for that crime. That was my only point. A 17 year old doesn't fall into the category of pedophilia. A 7 year old would, but not a 17 year old.
