I can't recall if I missed the flu shot that year (I'm normally good about that) but it sounds like it would not have mattered. My throat felt like it was on fire for days.

My throat felt like it was on fire for days. What I remember was 3 days of a high fever that I was managing by alternating tylenol and advil. Day 1 I slept almost the entire time waking up in sweats. Day 2 I was in and out while Day 3 I was mostly awake but still in rough shape with a fever.
