Pop Pop will drop out, probably within the week. He’s demanded that he won’t be forced out but, after thinking it over for a few days he’s going to drop out, ‘on his own terms’.

So by Friday?

You’re talking to one of the sharpest political minds of our generation. If he says it’ll be this week, it’ll be this week.

This came up on my YouTube feed. 16 years is a long time for anyone, but just seeing the decline is sad. Dropping out is the right thing to do for the country

Harris has already caught up in the polls. She went from being hated and dismissed to running almost even with Trump

The risk is her likeability. Hilary was crushing Trump in every poll but she had a major likeability problem that she couldn't overcome. The Comey letter was her undoing, but Trump had closed within striking distance before then because of her likeability. Kamala has the same issue. I refuse to be lazy and chalk it up solely to her being a woman, but there are a lot of people who will vote for Biden but not her. There are obviously a lot of people who will do the inverse as well, so the question is which group is bigger. I'm not sure anyone knows the answer, but I doubt it's an easy one to find out right now.

To be fair, I laugh at all your posts.  Whether it’s "Joe is hanging by a thread” or one of your cliches like "lock and load.”  You’re just a barrel of laughs I guess.

Ok that works. Mark them all then Dave, you simpleton you.

Timing never better to go with a woman candidate

Yeah, Zuke declared Oz a clear winner a few years ago. Guy knows what he's talking about.

You guys are on cloud 9 with this BS. ITS TOO LATE.  If the Dems try switch and bait, there will be lawsuits in all 50 states to keep the new person off the ballot. And its actually the deep blue/red states which could be more susceptible to a lawsuit sticking because their not ready for that type of challenge and don't have their laws up to date.  There is a radically right wing supreme court just licking their chops ready to declare Harris or whoever as a write in candidate in Colorado or Maine or Gawd knows which state has the most arcane laws on this.

Get off this BS ASAP and focus mther f'ers. Republicans have forgiven Trump for 1000000x more than a drooling debate.  Biden has a solid record to run on and a heartbeat. Quit this nonsensical self destruction FFS.

We all thought that in 2016 too.

Ehhhh, I don't think we all thought that.

Is TJ saying he’s gonna vote for Kamala Harris?

I mean from a strategy perspective. Frankly i find the DEI angles moronic

would i vote for her over trump? Sure. Pretty easy decision

i think the drm party bungled her role horribly to try and create some fake persona. Just be genuine

I didn't vote for her, but the thought was that it was the perfect time given the weakness of her opponent. Turns out, that wasn't quite the case. In all honesty, given the benefit of hindsight and everything that's transpired, I now regret not voting for her. I thought with Michigan being traditionally blue that it likely wouldn't matter, and I also couldn't stand her. But I should've held my nose and voted for her to stop the chain of events that were set in motion.

Right, as I said, she has a likeability problem. Same one Harris has, perhaps to a lesser degree but still an issue.

This is nonsense, the presidential selection process cannot force a party to stick with a selection  regardless of circumstances, the idea is absurd for example if a candidate dies between the primary and the convention, how could it possibly be desirable for a dead person to be on the ballot for the Presidency?  The only potential wrinkle is Ohio because some horses ass Republicans decided to refuse to wave through proforma legislation, that would allow the state to accept Bidens nomination despite the state deadline falling before the convention without tacking some legislation on campaign finance that they'd never get passed normally.

Even if they could do it legally (which is doubtful) Republicans trying to use the law to put a thumb on the scales to force the Dems to retain an unfit candidate like this would backfire horribly in the polls.

I think he means if the candidate is someone other than Harris.

I honestly don't think it matters, if the candidate isn't Biden as I understand Dem party rules the convention becomes a free for all for the nomination, I think that's why the Dems are taking so long to make the call because they're absolutely terrified that a left wing outsider could turn up and disrupt the coronation with a couple of barnstorming speeches swaying delegates.

Again they could've avoided this if they'd just listened to people saying 'you can't put an 81 year old with clear signs of decline up for 4 more years' about 8 months ago.

I figured this is who they’d be looking at in terms of a beep short list. I’d prefer Shapiro to stay here though (from Axios)

”Biden would push to pair her with a moderate Democratic governor like Pennsylvania's Josh Shapiro (51), Kentucky's Andy Beshear (age 46), North Carolina's Roy Cooper (67) or Illinois' J.B. Pritzker (59)”
