Even without a debate, if all voters have to go on are town halls and sound bytes from speeches, JD Vance has had nothing but weird creep vibes, cringe and awkwardness. Walz is far more likeable and respectable.

He banned conversion therapy, which isn't going to be a deciding issue among all the other issues in the election. Meanwhile JD Vance is best known for f'ing a couch, which isn't even true. I agree with all your points. At the end of the day she isn't Trump and isn't old and senile. I'm not sure how much he will hurt her at the end of the day vs a missed opportunity. Her winning or losing still comes down her ability to not be annoying or say things like today is today yesterday. We'll see. Not a good pick, though.

Honestly I think this is the reasoning. Someone said that Shapiro sounds like a "Jewish Obama" when he speaks. He's clean cut. He's gonna be viewed as a east coast city guy. Which is great for me. But they don't have to win me.  Shapiro probably gives them an edge over Walz in PA but I doubt it helps them anywhere else. You're doubling up on "costal elites". Their policies aren't radically different enough for that to genuinely sway people one way or the other (that haven't already made up their minds).  I dunno. I see why they went with him.
