who is saying these other candidates are running because of trump ? thought the debate was if any of them had a snowball's chance.

i agree though, it may be a moot point because trump's base is made up of knuckle draggers that refuse to put down the I need to find a new cliche.

Christie can't win the nomination, and he knows that despite what he may say. This is a legacy play for him -- he wants to be the one to stop Trump. He was one of the first national Republicans to endorse Trump, stood by him for 4 years, and then finally turned after January 6th. Christie doesn't want to be remembered as one of the chief enablers. His whole campaign will be a full frontal attack on Donnie, and the hope is the baby takes the bait and engages, allowing others to gain traction.

I really hope he can pull it off.

Me too.  Should be good.  When George asked him this morning if he would still vote Trump if he was the nominee, he said he is going to be the nominee. I thought that was a great answer.

If you can read this, you're a butt.

(I typed this without reading it - so nice try turning it around on me but you have failed)

Pence had a town hall on CNN last night. He’s the complete opposite of the most interesting man in the world. How this guy got elected to any office is kind of amazing.

Sadly this is probably a winning strategy among republican primary voters.

Considering Stormy told the world about Trump’s mushroom and he’s a fat ass himself, I highly doubt DeSantis and Christie won’t fire back, as they should.

That worked out well for Rubio

You need to keep responding to him, that's where they all made mistakes in 2016 -- letting him get the last laugh. Call him stupid, and let him talk about how he's a genius and will take an IQ anytime. Then -- follow up with an invitation to a proctored IQ test the next day. When he insults someone's appearance, call him obese, and when he cries, bring a scale out on stage.

To beat the clown showman, you have to upstage him.

This is why the GOP base's devotion to the con man is so ridiculous. He'll manage to lose to Biden, but any nameless Republican would win in a landslide.

See below, I agree with Vikas.

I would literally take any of the other nominees over Trump...except Pence, cause he has the personality of the crust in the corner of your eyes when you wake up.

so if DeSantis holds a press conference and slaps an absolute unit on the table Lyndon Johnson style, does that make him an immediate front-runner?

if we're being honest, "generic republican/democrat" seems to be preferred by voters in almost every poll against almost any actual candidate.

DeSantis should come out and say that nobody has written a book about the size of his P, unlike mushroom boy.

I think DeSantis and Christie are the only two that will fire back.

Christie clearly needs to just go with "I could always lose weight, but Donnie will always be a moron"

Christie for sure.  He's willing to call out the cult for what it is, and see if there's an audience for that.  DeSantis is too beholden to the whole MAGA scene to hit Trump too hard.

Especially after he's on video praising him relentlessly and stealing his talking points and mannerisms.

I don't think Donnie has any business hitting someone for their weight

He does it all the time.

christie needs to go for the jugular on trump right off the bat and start in on his spanks & diaper wearing.

Coming at Trump is a totally different ballgame than beating up on Marco Fing Rubio.

I hope I'm wrong but Im just not super confident in Christie as some kind of verbal assassin in the primaries.

Nobody has been willing to go as low-brow as Trump and match his uncouthness. Somebody just needs to go for it.
